Bigelow's Barber Cologne in Elixir Red is a fabulous addition to any fragrance wardrobe. Clean and crisp fig leaf gives Elixir Red a uniquely modern texture. The heart of this fragrance is composed of redcurrant and sandalwood accords which blend together nicely to create a warm sillage. I'm very impressed by this release, as the notes list looks like something I'd expect to find from a niche perfumery with an expensive price tag. To add to the charm of this cologne, the bottle looks like something you might find on Don Draper's countertop. This scrumptious cologne is the perfect gift for you and the man in your life to enjoy together!

Stila Spring 2010 pics

Jan 31, 2010

Check out the pics of Stila's spring collection. I've been wearing most of it every day, and I friggen LOVE it. I've gotten lots of compliments on the lipglazes, and I really like them because they're not (IMO) as sticky as other brands are/can be when they add glitter.
Enjoy, and if you have any questions, or if you've got any of these pieces and want to share your impressions, please do!

Napoleon Perdis is bringing colors from the celestial plane down to earth with the new Astro Girl collection. Launching in February the collection contains four prismatic quads that are named and themed after the four elements of the Zodiac - Earth, Wind, Fire and Water. The packaging has a pro tip for application on the back along with a breakdown of which sign each color was selected for. Each quad contains four generously sized shadows, two sponge tip applicators and a small mirror.

Being a Libra myself I was instantly attracted the the air quad. The luminous colors are easily blended and have great pigmentation. This past weekend I used the smokey charcoal and silvery white shade from the Water quad for a equally sensual and striking smokey eye for a special occasion. The colors can be used wet or dry opening up several new shadow/liner combinations with each quad.

If you are a fan of astrology and things celestial as well as lover of pigmented shadows, we can safely say these quads will be a unique addition to your collection. I'm looking forward to hearing what you think about them!

Each quad retails for $35 and is available at Ulta as well as online through dermstore.com and ulta.com

For more information from Napoleon Perdis on the impact of his passion for astrology on the creative direction for collection as well as a detailed breakdown of the colours in each quad please visit the Astro Girl discussion thread in the Specktra.Net forum!

In a prior post I mentioned that y'all'd want to keep your eyes open for the Stila Spring line. Yesterday, I received samples in the mail and figured I'd play with them today.

Stila decided to go with a sparkly, jewel inspired spring line, and I think, for the most part it did them well. The palette is smaller than the regular Stila palettes, which surprised me, but the shadows are something new and different for sure. Initially, I thought they were like MAC's Lustre formula (which I actively loathe), but they're not. They're pigmented, blendable, and the shimmer doesn't fall out everywhere. I found that I liked the application better if it was a bit damp, but that's just me.

Treat yourself with Stila's latest addition to their immensely popular "Crush" series...Yumberry Crush ($24)! Loaded with vitamins and antioxidants, this good for your lips stain is a gorgeous shade of midtone pink...and since it's a stain it's not heavy or sticky!

While you're at it, check out the uber craveworthy Jewel Eyes Palette ($32). Stila's shadows are known for being super soft and blendable, these just have an extra shimmer to them that makes them sparkle and shine!

Snowy Day FOTD

Dec 30, 2009

Ok so yesterday Texas got a rare winter blast...v2.0 (because we did after all have our first white Christmas in something like EIGHTY THREE YEARS this year)...and while the snow was coming down I snapped some quick pics of the look I did.
I love pink and brown together, I think there are so many ways to wear that combination (pale pinks and warm browns, soft cool pinks and dirty browns, or like I did, intense browns with an intense pink). Any way it goes, I really like the various looks one can create.

Click the jump for the rest of the pics! And, thanks for looking!

In case you missed it (I know I did!) there are photos of a promo card for From our Lips, the new Viva Glam campaign featuring Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper. The front of the card is a photo booth style candid of the ladies with their signature colors on the lips (though we haven't been able to confirm if the ladies are wearing their respective color). Both have on gorgeous lingerie and are rocking seriously smokey eyes. Face charts for these looks please! On the back of the card are 26 fun questions the ladies have answered. So cute! This is such a tease though while we wait for the full blown collection shots. With these two I know they're going to be wildly hot.

Something to note - This is a limited edition Viva Glam collection that will be on counters for a year.

I will be the first to admit Gaga has totally stolen my heart. I am really digging this girl! What about you, or are you suffering from Gaga overload?

The holidays are a time to regroup, relax and reward your loved ones (and yourself!) with a gorgeous gift. This season Napoleon Perdis Cosmetics is offering an enchanting array of holiday-themed treats handpicked by the makeup maestro himself. Stylish, covetable and moderately priced (from $25), the limited edition “Gilty Pleasures” collection includes mini brushes, mega makeup palettes, lip glosses, eye shimmers and bronzing products. Everything is graced with the Midas touch. The palettes shine with glittering gold fabrics, the eye shimmers come in three divine metallic shades, and the lip glosses are embellished with a filigree of glistening metal. Customers who spend over $100 will also receive a gold tote bag destined to be dangling from the chicest wrists this winter. “Gilty Pleasures” is composed of affordable little luxuries—so much so that shoppers might be thinking “One for you. Two for me.”

I've become a huge fan of the Napoleon Perdis line in a very short period of time...everything I've tried has netted great results, and given the ravaged state of my wallet this holiday season, the price point is nice.
