I've been fooling around with make up for a while but I'm still pretty clueless. I'm hoping some of you lovely ladies can help me out. I wear C6 in MAC Studio Fix Powder. I suppose thats my summer shade because it looks quite orangey when I'm in the UK. I went to the MAC counter at Debs and bought MAC SFF in NC43.5 - looked nice in the store but I feel that it's a bit off. When I got my Studio Fix in FL the MA said that I was either a C6 or a NC42 but she and my mom found that the C6 blended a little better. Anyhoo - I said that to ask, if - based on the photos I will post - any of you think I should try the NC42 in place of NC43.5 or some other shade.
E/s - I have brown eyes. They are kind of weird too. I don't have very much eyespace. Don't really know what shape I have either. I have been told that I have Diana/Tracee Ellis Ross eyes.
L/s - I usually stick to shades like MAC slimshine Long Stem Rose or NYX Thalia. But I want to branch out a little bit more. Lol but not too far.
Blush - Absolutely no clue.
Thank you so very much in advance!
Ange & I. I'm on the right. This is the most tan I get.
Auz and I. I'm on the left (no I really don't have pics by myself...lol)
Sherv and I. I'm on the right. My coloring changes easily as my skin responds to the presence/absence of sun quite quickly.

Unfortunately my job sucks and they block photobucket, so I can't see your pics...but as far as your foundation problem, sometimes it can be really hard to find a perfect MAC shade...for some reason, although it looks like they have a decent color variation to choose from, they're excluding a lot of girls on either end of the color spectrum, and also girls whose skin tone isn't warm or cool, but neutral, or both. Anyway...I had a problem with NC15 (NW15 is just WRONG...I look like a blotchy pumpkin...stupid orange face) making me look jaundiced, so if I want to wear MAC foundation, what I wound up doing was buying the loose powder in NW5 to put over it. The fact that it's an NW neutralized the yucky yellow effect that the foundation tried to give me, and the fact that it was a 5, lightened it up enough to blend a bit better with my neck.
Whew...ok...that was a lot...but basically what I'm getting at is if you can't find a color that matches you perfectly (for instance, if the orangey one matches your shade the best, but not the undertone), you can try having the MAC artist try a darker or lighter shade of powder, and possibly the opposite undertone, if needed. Also, using different undertones of concealer in necessary spots can help combat your foundation looking too orange, or too yellow...This is only going to apply in the case of liquid foundations (except the concealer bit)...I wouldn't go layering powder over powder, or you'll look like a powder cake yourself...LOL Also, if C6 is turning you orange, you may want to look at a different toned foundation, try something a bit warmer, it may help.
Did that make any sense whatsoever? Sorry...it's early, and I haven't had enough caffeine yet.
Anyway, GL, and I hope you find a foundation combo that makes you happy!
