In February of '07 MAC Cosmetics released a collection so appealing and anticipated that beauty addicts and non addicts alike lined up in front of MAC counters and storefronts across the globe. The collection, if you couldn't guess, was called Barbie Loves MAC. The superstar pairing is talked about to this day as one of the most popular MAC collections for 2007. How is MAC supposed to top this years effort? By marking the anniversary of the popular Barbie Loves MAC collection with another powerhouse collaboration, this time French artist Fafi in spring of '08!

Fafi is a well renowned street artist who is known for her sexy characters called the "Fafinettes". She resides Paris where she is an active presence in both the local graffiti and fine art scenes. Best known for her images of cute, sexy and liberated girls, Fafi explores femininity through stereotypes. Fafi has released two books of her artwork, "Girls Rock" was first published in 2003 and more recently "Love and Fafiness: Girlie art by Fafi" was released as a Japanese exclusive. I did manage to find one copy of Love and Fafiness on amazon.com.

I know you want to know what can I tell you about this collection, well to be honest there's nothing solid yet other than confirmation from MAC that it is indeed coming. Some of the highlights of the Fafi + MAC collaboration are 3 multi-cultural dolls and, from what I understand, several bags that feature Fafi artwork prints. The packaging is said to be HOT, and the quad to be made available with this collection isn't going to follow standard format and is actually said to be packaged in a larger case than normal.
