aegean vs. parrot
had heard that the shadow Aegean by Cargo was very similar to Parrot. Ha - I actually bought Aegean just because of that, even though I had purchased a parrot (yay!) so I could compare. I know that a lot of people love the colour - but aren't willing to shell out the cash for it.
So now, I don't think you have to...
EDIT: I hear from the chicks at livejournal.com that the following are similar:
Prescriptives - Marine
Cover Girl - Aqua Paradise
If anyone has pictures of either, I would love to add them to this post!
thanks!
mia
Note that the parrot has been a little more loved than the cargo, thus altering its appearance in contrast to aegean.
I think they are pretty darned similar. Parrot is a tad bit frostier and fades more on the blue side rather than aegean (which tends to fade more on the green side)
Anyway, I hope this helps the parrot hungry

THAT'S AMAZING!!! Either MAC ripped them off, or Cargo is just doing what MAC should've done all along (make LE items permanent). I love it, I love it!

Wish me luck, I am going to attempt to post a comparison swatch on dark skin between MAC Parrot, Cargo's Aegean and Bloom's Lagoon. In that order I have no idea what I'm doing.

Parrot lookalikes
I just want to add that Shu Uemura blue ME 638, BE azure, Smashbox smashing digital, L'Oreal on the loose in diva down, Lise Watier#943 and Bloom Lagoon are also similar. I own Smashbox smashing digital, and when applied, it's nearly identical to Parrot. L'Oreal diva down OTL is a bit darker than Parrot.

This has probably been posted before, but since I'm new here and haven't found it I'll share the recipe:
Sea Me shadestick + Tilt e/s = Parrot

For whatever it is worth, I have been using a pigment version of Parrot for close to 20 years- Stagelight has one called blue green.
It is more shimmery than parrot, and I will have to take a photo for you and post it soon.
I prefer the flakier texture of the older formula of MAC pigment so was hoping they would get smart and make parrot color in their pigment. That formulation makes the metallic type sheen that I love.
Since that has not happened, I use the Stagelight version from stagelightcosmetics.com which I have had for many years. I know that they still have it.
This stuff is finer like the more recent formulation of MAC pigments like Fairylite and the newer colors which are finer and more powdery, but it still has decent shimmer.

Okay, here is my comparison via photo of Parrot and Stagelight pigment
http://www.specktra.net/forum/album_pic.php?pic_id=1865
Because the pigment has more shimmer, the one photo looks lighter, but as you can see in the other photo, they are identical in color. Hope that helps someone!

Does anyone have Sea Me, Tilt and Parrot? I would love to see a photo of these posted together. I have Tilt and Parrot, but no Sea Me....I swapped it.
