I don't have the old skool MAC Black Gold shadow, but if anyone does, is it similar to or the same thing as the new Suspicion ES that came out with Nocturnelle? What was the texture of Black Gold ES?

Black Gold was a velvet. In my opinion, Suspicion is a dead ringer for it.

They told us at update that Suspicion was a reworked Black Gold!

Thanks for the pics. Wow, they are identical. So Suspicion is Black Gold. I guess I can quit feeing bad about missing out on Black Gold, eh?

Black Gold is HTF/rare item of MAC products...

But suspicion looks like it, I'm excited to learn the news & pics, too great!!!

I'm debating about buying this or not. When I saw it at the counter, it seemed to show up a little dull on me, so I passed. Maybe I will try it again.

I think the working name for Suspicion was Black Gold, so that to me means it's one in the same.

honestly this es isnt that great. its basically carbon. i doubt u will be able to see the gold on the eye...i rubbed it on my hand and had to use 3 coats to kinda see the shimmer. not worth it imo..carbon or black tied are better.

True, you don't see the gold. Meeehh, I'm fine with that. I don't really like it for a "gold" effect. It is just a nice dark shadow that is a softer black. Not as extreme as Carbon, IMO. Almost like Blitz N Glitz Fluidline in a shadow. I have a thing for the really dark colours in the outer "v".

As the others have said it is basically a reworked and tweaked Black Gold, not exactly the same but very very close.

I like it but I won't be buying more than MAYBE 1 backup of it, I don't think I'll use it much since it is more of a soft black rather than a jet black.

When I went to updated I scored "Suspicion" and on the packing I have it says "black gold" but it was marked through and suspicion was written in, so my guess its the same.

Suspicion looks JUST like print when swatched. I returned that, along with Sleeping Beauty (looks too much like Nars Fathom), Innuendo (a less shiny version of Subtle pig IMO, Magnetique (aka Already Fab Chromeglass), and Deep Attraction Lipstick (which IMO has crappy color payoff).

And for the record... Entremauve looks JUST like Grape pig. I'm giving away my grape pig sample since I don't have the heart to return an LE pigment.

I gave it a chance.... ordered almost the entire collection online. But after having sent back 5 items... I'll admit I am quite disappointed.

eek! I couldnt return all of that stuff! I'd feel bad...haha...

But I tried suspicion on at Nordies (on my hand) and it just looked like 'bleh' But I didnt try it with a base...Maybe if I found a gold-ish colored base, more gold would pop out? Or maybe I'm just too hopefull. I wish it was more like BlackTied but with gold instead of silver...I'd be ALL over that.

I would have tried to check out the collection in a store or counter if you could have first...or just waited for the swatches bc now that you returned the stuff it has just gone to waste. We HAVE to throw away all returned cosmetics even if the person hadn't even walked out of the store yet and decided to return it...

Out of all the items in this collection, I adore this shadow. The rest is meh. Soft and blends great!
