Clear false lashes?

I have some MAC MA2 false eyelashes. They are black at the base but turn completely clear from there up. What is the purpose of having clear lashes? I'm a little confused.

hmm. Maybe it's for when you want to wear colored mascara? I guess the color would show up really brightly on clear falsies. That's the only thing I can think of...

Maybe. But don't the colors show up pretty well on black lashes as well? I don't know, it seems like it would be hard to get the color off after using them.

Sometimes they release some weird or funky looking lashes around holiday time. Maybe they were made to go with a certain "look".

Maybe they are meant to be used with a white mascara to show up against a smokey look?
