Skinfinishes vs. Shimmer Blush Doubles?
For those of you who have both a mineralized skinfinish and a shimmer blush double, like Pinkerpeach/Trustfund or Golden Kitty/Primpin'... how would you compare the finish? Assuming that we are using the exact same brush (187 stippling seems to be the best for buffing shimmery powders)... do they look very similar? Is one better overall than the other?

I'm debating on whether I need both. I'm on the fence about the skinfinishes even though I've heard nothing but great things about them, but if I can achieve a similar look with my blush doubles (I have both listed above and there's barely a dip in them), then I'll pass on the skinfinish.

Thanks : )

I can take pics later on for you if you want...

Honestly, I have all the doubles, and all the skin finishes (first releases) and i MUCH prefer the skin finishes, they are much sheerer, and Im not sure exactly how to explain it but they are just prettier, without looking overdone?
For example you could really over-do a blush double whereas even if you use a ton of sf it wont appear overdone...at least imho...I use a gentle hand with a buff brush and always have really good results...
hth!

I'm thinking the same thing... I have pinkerpeach/trustfund and trace gold shimmer blush and I'm wondering if I REALLY need to drop some money for stereo rose.

good topic. i am not too keen with the skinfinish. i hardly tend to use my blush, only once in a while. i think i would look overdone if i wear them to class. i dont really like the thought of buy blushes and stuff and see them rot in a corner. my blushes barely have a dip in them. i guess i will just pass on the skinfinish, but damn the reviews and the swatches just tempts me soo much, but i will just pass on them.

meaf: I have naturally flushed cheeks plus I'm quite pale so I rarely wear blush and when I do I don't use much.

That being said I use skinfinishes all the time. They're like a non-blush, they just give a pearly finish to the skin and a glow. I like it because I can get the full polished look without piling on blush, OR I can just sweep it on a nude face just to perk me up a bit.

Anyway thats just me tho, to me they're better than blush.

Interesting. I feel like I "need" bluh because my skin is so sallow but if I got porcelaine pink or stereo rose it might do the trick. I'm worried about it making my already big pores look bigger. The shimmer blushes can do that if I'm not careful.

I have noticed PP make my pores a little more noticeable so I think your concerns are valid banana!

Ditto! I have the RFS (red face syndrome) naturally flushed 100% of the time, I use blush occasionally, but I use my skin finishes ALL the time...They dont give color persay, but more of a glowy polished look...Never too much color, just beautiful shimmer
