Thoughts on Select SPF foundation?
I use Studio Tech right now and by using a mattyfying moisturiser to stop it applying too greasy and also Fix + over the moisturiser so that it glides on, i make it work for me. I also use Blot powder on top and through the day.

I really didn't want to start using liquid foundation again because of the inconvinence and mess compared to a compact but i'm thinking i might get a better finish with a liquid. I keep going back to Studio Tech though and i've tried to use other brands as people keep saying Mac foundations are not the best but Mac are the only ones who seem to recognise my skin tone.

So aswell as checking out loads of reviews and getting a sample, i'd like to know people's thoughts on Select SPF foundation? How has it worked for people? What finish does it give? (i hate that question though as it really depends on how your skin behaves doesn't it) and could i make it work for me looking at my routine above?

Also someone here once said that it's the kind of foundation where with a drop of water or sweat it comes off?

I actually really want to use Biotherm's Sense Matte but they don't do my skin tone which is NC43. If anyone knows another brand that can give the same finish as that and comes in my shade then i'd love to know.

Thanks.

Personally I love Select SPF-doesn't change colors on me and doesn't make me break out at all. Love the SPF 15. The finish-not that matte, I'd say more of a fresh natural, but still works great on my oily skin. If you do decide to get it, I actually have an NC43 Select SPF that I realized was too light for me(don't want to drive all the way there to return it) used only like twice if you're interested.

It's funny-- I used it a few years ago and didn't like it. My skin seems to have changed lately, though, and now I love it. Good coverage, not overly matte, doesn't break me out, great colour match, etc. Of course, MAC is great about giving samples so I'm sure they'd let you try it first.

I recently started using this again. The colors tend to run a tad lighter, so if you get a sample get your shade and 1 darker to test. It is a soft matte finish, medium coverage. I use Clarins Beauty Flash Balm or B&BW Burdock Root Mattifier under everything, and get pretty good wear with it. Also, you might want to try and swipe some Blot powder under your fnd, let it set a minute or 2, and then apply the fnd, seems to help control oil better that way. HTHS

I really like it. I have combination skin and get a little bit oily across the T zone so after I've applied my Select I dust with a little Jurlique lavender or rose silk dust and this keeps that area more matte. I finish off with Select pressed powder and I find that it lasts extremely well. I find that after I've worn it for half an hour or so it just seems to melt into my skin and my complexion looks really good- well heaps better anyway :P. I find it easy to apply too and I tend to just use my fingertips for blending.

Oh and I just remembered to add that I find it doesn't give the white cast that same foundations with SPF can in photographs and it lasts really well. In fact I have a digital picture of me wearing it after I'd got home after a night in a hot smokey club and I think it held up really well. If you want me to send you the picture or something let me know. I always like to see how makeup holds up after a big night out lol

I really like it. It's great for my combo skin and one of the first foundations in a while to not break me out - in fact, I haven't had a blemish since I started using it! I love that it's light. One of the first foundations *ever* I'm going to re-purchase, which is saying something after 15 years of foundation use.
