Makeup lessons and classes?
Hey girls,
Do you know where I can find classes or makeup lessons that i can go to and see live?Or a makeup course?
Not for a degree, but just for a selp-help course and to learn how to put on makeup.
What about videos? Do you konw of any good insytuctional videos on how to do eyeshadow?
I can never in my life do them correctly. I read so many of the great tutorials here and still wasn't able to replicate them.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Have you ever seen the book by Kevyn Aucoin? It's either "Face Forward" or "Making Faces" - one of them has detailed instructions to replicate classic looks, has a few good basics. It's worth a look.

Mac
Go to any MAC counter or store and they can offer as much help as you need. At MAC you can book something called a "lesson" where they will spend an hour and a half, one on one with you and teach you everything you need to know about make up application....now there is a small fee of $90cdn, but it's totally worth it and it's hands on. Or if you don't want to spend the money then just walk into the store, and if they're not too busy they can do a couple of demos on you while explaining different techniques and tips for free. We are professional Make up Artists, so take advantage of that and ask for help!

Thanks so much, Betty. That's a great idea.
As for the Mac makeup lesson, is it in an isolated room or in the store where everyone can see? Do they do it on you or can you request it be done on someone else so you can actually pay attention rather than close your eyes for the eyeshadow?

Hey Hundove,

Well if it's at a MAC store then it's in a private make up room but if it's at a counter well then it's on the floor for everyone to see. They will do it on you, but they'll take their time and do it step by step, they will also get you to try out a lot of the techniques. If you wanted to bring a friend you could, and have them do the make up on her while you watch, but depending on the store they might charge each of you $90 for that...I don't know?! Call a location and see what you can work out, I'm sure they'll be able to meet your needs.
