NATURAL BRUNETTS going BLONDE in 1 Step

well as all of you know I always color my hair and now I have a dark cognac blonde shade, the only issue I have ever had with this color is how to get it blonde since I have dark brown hair I never knew what color to apply to my roots after they started growing out. I would always use golden blondes on my roots to try to match the rest of me hair color and they would turn my hair brassy and orangey. So I went to Sally Beauty Supply and decided to use the highest degree of blonde I could go without having to bleach my new virgin hair in order to turn it blonde, to stay blonde.

Loreal HiColor Highlights in Ash Blonde, with a 30 volume developer finally gave me the results I wanted. This specific dye is not designed to be used for a full head application, but I did it anyways. I only touched up my roots and did'nt pull it through my ends at all because it would have torn my hair up into split ends.

The result I got was a light golden blonde, the color on my roots is lighter then my current color on the rest of my head but that's okay because now eveytime I touch up my roots with this same product my hair will be a light golden blonde. The gold results in this color application were more yellow rather then gold, so it was way less brassy then any of my other attempts, using a color with an ash base really help elliminate a lot of gold tones that I didn't want.

If anyone decides to use this dye I would not recommed using it on your ends at all, it will damage your hair and tear it to shreds. So you can use it for highlighting or like in my case, I want to stay blonde and do it with out damage, I will continue to color only my roots with this dye, and not color my ends, plus my ends get trimmed every 4-6 weeks, so in three months all of my hair will have grown out and all the brassy ends will be gone, and I'll be on my way to a light soft golden blonde.

Also please keep in mind that this dye is only to be used on VIRGIN HAIR or HAIR THAT HAS NEVER BEEN COLORED/DYED.
That's the only way to get the best results.
