Shameless Promotions Forum Guidelines [updated 8/23/06]

Specktra.Net forums average millions of pageviews a month!! The Shameless Promotions Forum is a great place for you to brag about your personal website, beauty related services, and portfolios. In light of this increase in traffic and visibility we have decided to change the way this forum works a little. Here are the new guidelines!

SPFG = Shameless Promotion Forum Guideline

SPFG for Personal Websites:

• One thread per member to promote personal websites.
• Reciprocal link to Specktra.Net required on site/blog, URL to page that satisfies this requirement must be listed in thread for Specktra.Net staff to verify at all times.

SPFG for websites that provide a Discussion or Forum feature:

• One thread per member to promote personal websites.
• Reciprocal link to Specktra.Net required on site/forum, URL to page that satisfies this requirement must be listed in thread for Specktra.Net staff to verify at all times.
• URL's provided that no longer have active reciprocal links will be removed by Specktra staff without notice, a warning will be issued to alert you.
• A user may restore the thread by satisfying the reciprocal link requirement.
• Sites with similar forum content and theme not allowed.

SPFG Guidelines for Makeup Artists:

• One thread per member to advertise services & portfolio.

SPFG for those who work for a line and would like to promote an in store event:

• One thread per member to promote store events. Thread will be closed after event date has passed.
• You are allowed to make a new thread if you have another event after your thread has been closed.
• If you have multiple events in a short period of time please use one thread to announce them all.

SPFG for Sellers & e-commerce websites

• Please do not post your e-commerce website in this forum. Specktra.net does have advertising space. If you would like to advertise on Specktra.net please contact janice@specktra.net.
• You are permitted a link to your business in your signature.
• Shilling or advertising outside of the Clearance Bin is not allowed. Violators will be banned without warning.

A note to let those of you advertising your sites/blogs here that we will be strictly enforcing the requirement for a link back to Specktra. In one week this forum will be cleaned up and any threads linking to sites/blogs with no link back to Specktra will be removed. This gives you time to update your site/blog to meet the requirement.

Any new blogs/sites utilizing Specktra to link out will need to meet this guideline to be approved for listing. If not, your thread will be deleted.

I hope this is ok to ask here...
I posted a link to specktra a blog post of mine. Is this acceptable or should I put a link in the About me section?
