Hot Wax Incident

I did something not so bright today- I got a candle warmer for Christmas and I went to swap out candles in it, thinking it was off...I jerked the candle off and literally dumped hot wax all over my face, chest and arm.. I flipped, my kids fllipped out-because Mom had a scary looking coating of orange wax all over - my four and nine year old Ran outside screaming for dad - (it was a Carrot Cake candle)- Dad had turned the candle on- I didn't look - Thankfully it just mildly scalded me- and shocked me - but picking wax out of arm hairs is not fun- and eyebrows... I think that is a fetish I will avoid from now on. With the thousands of specktra users I can't be the only one whose done this..lol - well maybe I am.

I apologize I've been on here a lot lately- my dumb computer won't open any secure sites or let me on my aol boards or mail.. and I'm pissed off about it. Specktra is one of the few agreeable sites out there to feed two of my addictions at once.. Plus my stupid hick county will only allow me a at max 21k dialup connection making pictures a big pain for FOTD. I like to "Chatter" - I read a lot of posts and look at pictures :-) Plus my job majorly stressed me today so I'm in a avoidance mood- I need to get some sleep because I have to get up in five hours.

oh my goodness girl,that must have hurt BAD.i've never had that happen before.ouch! are you ok? yes that does suck with the dialup connection,we have bellsouth dsl,and nothing is like it to me.if i had to go back to dialup i'd die lol.i hope everything is ok with you girl

Gosh..when it rains it pours. Sounds like you had a not so good day. Well, here's wishing you a wax-free day tomorrow and hopefully your kids will see it was mommy under all that carrot cake candle wax after all..ha!!

Ouch! I once burned my eyebrow with too hot wax. I know it hurts terribly. I had to walk around with a big scab over my eye for about a week before it healed up :embarassed:

I am glad to hear it didn't get into your eyes or wose.

Can't say that I have done that one yet but when I was in my teen years I tried to dump hot wax down a sink w/ the cold water on! Big No No!

Oh, no It really wasn't that hot, it was quite a shock.. It wasn't even a first degree burn, it was more of a scare thing. My skin was red - but it was gone in two hours. I'm fine now. Work was better today -yesterday was horrible I was a wreck. Thanks everyone :-)
