New Scottish fold kitten :-))))))))

Do you remember from a week or so ago when my kitten Susie died at the cattery? I have found a new cattery in Belgium where the cats are much healthier (at the cattery where I found Susie all the cats where sneezing and Susie was very silent). I chose a little blue Scottish fold kitten and named her Purdy, she is so cute! They are sending me pictures tonight so I will post as soon as possible. I hope this kitten stays healthy and that I can take her home at the beginning of September and giver her a happy life and lots of love! Just wanted to share with you, you girls where so sweet when Susie died, it really helped me. XXX

i just realized what i said sounded super bitchy. I didnt mean for it to come out that way. I just get soooooooooo very very upset when people buy animals from "mills"

I don't understand what you mean with: mills. What is that? (I'm Dutch) She comes from a cattery in Belgium. And for stray cats, I had one for 10 years. People dumped him on the street and I had him for 10 years. I really don't understand what is wrong with buying a cat from a cattery. I love Scottish folds and really wanted one.

Just saw the pic - awwwww, so cute! I love Scottish Folds! If I ever branch out from Burmese, I'd get a Fold Congrats!

BTW, most catteries aren't "mills." I've seen the place my first 3 Burms came from and it was just the breeder's house. And the breeder of the 4 Burms after them obviously spends a lot of time with them, since they're all so sweet and well-socialized (sometimes too well-socialized...) when we get them.

Well, the cattery where Purdy comes from is certainly not a mill!! The parents are tested for diceases etc. and the house was very clean and well taken care off.

I believe that the 'cattery-club' made rules to prevent a cattery into getting a mill: only 3 nests every 2 years, no more or else you'll lose your qualitytag!

I only asked if there was a Scottish fold Kitten/cat rescue. and there is. i believe in rescuing animals, not buying them. there are toooo many homeless animals out there to be buying them from breeders that is all .. you also said

Just a curious question here. Why do you have to wait till September to take her home? Is that usualy there? She looks so sweet. I know you can't wait to get her.

But yeah, when purchasing a kitten it's not unusual to have a month or two of delay bringing them home due to vaccinations, registration, chipping, etcetera.

Just want to add that in many countries its actually LAW that kittens cant leave until 10 weeks of age from registered breeders as a minimum.

I know this is a super old thread - but I adore Scottish folds
