Covergirl Outlast Lip Stain?

So, I tried this the other day in Wild Berry Wink - I loved it, until I licked my lips and then my tongue swelled up. I do have a food allergy(bell peppers/capsicum) and sensitive skin, but I was wondering if anyone might know whether this would have been food related or skin related (As you generally don't eat skin/makeup products!), and if it would be something I'd encounter in all of their lipstains, or just this color...

Or has anyone else had a reaction to this or other lipstains? I have another lipstain by Pixi that doesn't bother me at all, but now I'm leery about trying any others (I've been wanting to try the MAC lip/cheek stains), because I want to avoid more puffy tongue/swollen throat issues.

I figured I'd ask here, even though I don't post much, just because I'm shy and I admire all of your work!

Hmmm, well sadly you could be allergic to something in that lipstain, something that you don't know about and may never know about. Because cosmetics are not ment to be ingested, it may not list the ingredient that you are allergic to. I would definetly stay away from the other lip stains from that brand, but you could try other brands. I would try a little bit of the MAC to see if you have the allergy, and if your tongue swells again return it or give it to a friend. I am sorry that I can't be of more help!

Thanks for the input - I'm hoping that it's just some ingredient in that particular brand. But if it's color related, then I may need to avoid RED stains (the one stain I own that I'm not allergic to is a neutral that comes out as a light berryish color - the one I reacted badly to was very red) - so maybe I'll try and hunt down the coral. I just wonder why they aren't making the stains right now - just not popular?

Maybe you're allergic to a certain red dye. I don't know which red dye I'm sensitive to, but certain vibrantly-red drinks and foods cause to me get migraines and nausea.
