Mac Pro-Eyeshadows Fell in Dirt...Still Safe??
Hi Ladies and Gents,

Not sure whether this is the most appropriate thread, but I have a dilemma. This morning while lifting my purse out of my car, my husband dropped my MAC pro-palette on a gravel path (with dirt) and 10 out of the 15 shadows fell face down.

Question: is it safe to just sanitize the shadows, and if so, how? OR would you toss them and buy new ones (I am a HUGE germ freak, and have sensitive skin)...

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Honestly, as long as they didn't get wet, a spray of alcohol will most likely wipe out anything on there.

I would spray, let it dry, then wipe it, then spray again. The reason I say spray it first is that if you wipe it first, you will grind all of the foreign particles and their germy bits into the shadow. I would spray whatever is on there first, then wipe it off.

Don't be too hard on your hubby! lol

Thank you so much for your reply!!! Do you know whether or not it is ok to use 70% alcohol and whether they should just be lightly sprayed or should they be saturated?

LOL..its funny now (not then) but after he dropped it, the expression on his face was like.. "OH S%^T I'm in trouble!!" I had to sit down and meditate for about 5 minutes before I could even speak

Thanks again!

I've dropped my makeup in worse places haha, some did warrant to be thrown away, but I don't think the driveway is too bad.....I would wipe clean, and spray with alcohol.....

70% rubbing alcohol is fine to use, spray it lightly as only the top layer was exposed to the dirt. Make sure that the whole top layer is wet, but don't soak the shadow because that will take forever to dry and it is unnecessary. I agree with MAC_Whore, do it twice just to be sure!
