Gold eye, Red lip - HELP PLS!
The last time I did this look I overdid it and this time I'm emceeing a wedding so I'd like to tweak this look. I did a test run today and it still looked heavy:
Rose Gold pigment on lid
Whistle e/s on inner corner & highlight
Dubonnet l/s (on lips =P)
The Rose Gold felt a bit heavy, but I liked it with a lighter application. Dubonnet may be too bright, especially if I'm eating quick bites before going back up (read: tons of re-application on the spot!). Fresh Moroccan might be a better choice and wouldn't be as bold either, as I don't want to outshine the bride.
I also tried out Woodwinked but it looked too orange - tho it looked much better with Fresh Moroccan than Rose Gold does.
I'm sure no one would notice much but me... but I'd love suggestions! Please help!

Re: Gold eye, Red lip - HELP PLS!
How about a white gold e/s, it would be far softer and lighter.

Re: Gold eye, Red lip - HELP PLS!
Yea I'd stay away from an overly bold/sparkly eye with bold lips. I think a softer eyeshadow choice would be better.

Re: Gold eye, Red lip - HELP PLS!
I think one or the other would be OK, but a gold eye AND a red lip might be a bit much. Maybe use a paler lippie with the gold eye, or if you really want a red lip make your eyes more subtle with toned down neutrals and highlights.

Re: Gold eye, Red lip - HELP PLS!
Thanks for the suggestions so far!
I'm wearing black and red so I'll stick with the red lips. As for toning down the eye... Woodwinked and Rose Gold looked okay when I applied it very lightly, but which other shadows would you suggest? I have:
Gold Dusk p/m
Rose Gold p/m
Goldenaire p/m
Whistle e/s
Gold p/g
White Wheat e/s
Honesty e/s
Woodwinked e/s
Casino e/s
Mythology e/s
I know some of those are even darker, but just in case they can be useful. =)
TIA!

Re: Gold eye, Red lip - HELP PLS!
Personally, I think rose gold is a little over the top for this look. Even applied lightly, it still has a very strong metallic sheen and may be too much with dubonnet. If you feel you must use it, I would pair a light champagne color all over the lid with a tiny bit of the rose gold in the crease for some definition.
Other than that, dubonnet is hot!

I would go with the Gold dusk or Goldenaire pigment =)

Re: Gold eye, Red lip - HELP PLS!
Something to possibly keep you from retouching your lips too much:
After you've done your first lip application, blot, then powder lightly. Reapply the lipstick and even if some comes off after you've eaten, there will still be some color stained onto your lips.
As far as the eyes, what about just something like Cocomotion pigment and a defined eye? Goldenaire would be nice too IMO.

Re: Gold eye, Red lip - HELP PLS!
I agree with what everyone said. Choose one area to be bold with and tone down the other. ie. More pop on eye = less bright of a red on the lips.
Funny j_absinthe mentioned Cocomotion, I did a red lip (Russian Red) with a lined eye and bit of Cocomotion for a wedding I was attending and it's posted in the FOTD, you may want to check it out
I have paired Woodwinked (a light application) with a bold red lip. Other suggestions are Subtle, Sunnydaze and Dazzleray. I looked at your list and I think the best way is to create a bit of depth with a darker neutral taupe or brown and then add a bit of a Gold p/m on top to give it a bit of a golden sheen. The trick is to not over do it but just enough so you get the flashes of gold which keeps the eye interesting but not competing with the bold red lips. HTH and make sure we see some pics!

I did this today. I used:

Tempting on lid
Brun on outer 1/3
Smoking on outer corner

Take a look at what Gong Li is wearing on the photo gallery. All gold and red-the Tang Dynasty was all about gold, cinnabar and jade. Li has red lips with gold dust in the center, goldish blush, gold shadow with crimson on the edges. I had recreated this look with MAC Antique Gold or Lauder 14 Karat and Cranbury or NARS Emanuelle and Gold Member over gold cream shadow.
