Smile Makeup Application
Hi...
I just recently discovered this website and have learnt so much from you guys.
However, i do have some problems with my current makeup.

I currently use Mac fast response eye cream and immediately put on my concealer. I switch between Mac studio fix and Bobbi Brown corrector/concealer.It all seems to conceal fine at first but by the time i get to school, it disappears and for some reason, my undereye circles turn grey, if that makes sense. Am I doing wrong? Do i need to give the eye cream time to absorb first?

Also, How to you guys use bronzer? Do you use it after the mineralize natural powder? And what's the best brush to apply it with?

Sorry for the long thread but i am really confused. I just want my makeup to look as fresh towards the end of the day as it looks when i first apply it in the morning.

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Makeup Application
For the eye cream, yes you should let it get absorbed first for say 5 mins? then put your concealer on.

Apply bronzer after putting powder on your face. Maybe a buffer brush or a blusher brush would work for putting it on.

Hope this helps

Re: Makeup Application
I agree. Let your eye cream settle for a few minutes first. Um... how much lighter is your concealer's colour compared to your skin colour? I find that I fixed the grey problem when I use 2 shades lighter for my concealer. it may look weird at first but after blending and finishing with the powder it'll look fine.

as for the bronzer, I use it as a final product which is after powder and all. and I simply use a blush brush and apply on the peak areas of the face which is where the sun hits i.e. forehead, cheekbones, nose, chin; so that it'll look natural. and you can use a powder or kabuki brush to blend it in so that it doesn't look too harsh

good luck!

Re: Makeup Application
i use fast responce eye cream and love it. like the other girls have said just it does need about 5mins to settle before u put concealer on. also after u put concealer on make sure u set it with powder.

clinique do a great bronzer brush that i absolutely love. it distributes colour evenly and it blends everything extremely well.

Re: Makeup Application
If your concealer turns grey or ends up grey looking, chances are you haven't been matched to the right color. I love BBs concealer and corrector. How's the light in your house when you apply makeup? I would get the grey cast with Le Touche d'Eclat, visit your BB counter again and explain the situation to the MUA, he or she will match you again, make sure you do it during the day when you can go outside and check it with natural sunlight which is the best to test shades of concealers and foundations.

As for bronzer, on the rare occasions I put it on (and usually it's when I have meetings with new clients who never met me and I apply it with the MAC 187 in the areas the sun would naturally hit my face and make me have that slightly golden look, the temples, cheeks, chin and nose. I am a bit pale and have to be very subtle with the bronzer but that's the most natural and appealing look to me.

I also apply bronzer with the 129, but any blush brush would do for application on a specific area or if you're going for a full sun kissed face, a powder brush would do as well.

I always apply bronzer after setting my makeup with loose powder or when I'm using the Air Touch Foundation, I apply the bronzer before the foundation making sure my skin has no residual oil so it won't look messy and dirty. If you don't use powder on top of your foundation or don't like it, blot your face with a soft tissue to ensure the area is as oil-free as possible.

Hope this helped.
