FAQ Forum Suggestion Box
The moderators and administrators of Specktra.net are proud to announce the new FAQ forum. This section is an ever-evolving area of our forums to help answer those frequently asked questions that many have, as well as to help in archiving useful techniques and information.
If you have a suggestion for a possible FAQ topic, please let us know by posting a response here. While we cannot promise to make a FAQ for every suggestion, we will do our best to make the FAQ section of the forums as beneficial to all as possible.

Maybe have a breakdown of the different blush/bronzer types and formulas (I'm still confused about cheekhue vs. ccb vs. blushcreme)

I'd love an "Which brush do I use to apply __?", the blank either being a product (ie skinfinish) or technique (ie line eyes with pigment).

I think you should do one on how many MAC Artists are registered users and what they think of this site.

Not a FAQ topic as such, but there should be a 'quick questions' thread perhaps here, where literally you have a question and someone answers it, no discussion. I guess we could have one in MAC Chat?

A list of ingredients for all products, especially face products, would be really great! They are hard to get if you don't have a MAC counter nearby, and so many people have various sensitivity issues these days.

This is actually in the works right now, so keep your eyes open! They will be housed in the product safety forum, when they go live, I believe.

I would love a faq on blending. Also on brushes, like what brushes fromother brands are equivalent to mac ones, and so on.

An ACRONYM/ABBREVIATION list of terms used on this site, i.e., FOTD, etc... if there isn't one here somewhere already -- I haven't found it!

Re: FAQ Forum Suggestion Box
I would love to have an FAQ on what everything on specktra means, membership wise. For example, how does a junior member differ from a member and what does "just arrived" mean and how long does it stay on? Whats a specktra janitor and whats a valued member? Thanks!

Re: FAQ Forum Suggestion Box
Could we maybe have a FAQ thread about MAC events? As a MAC newbie, I have never attended an event, but I am signed up for the HK event. What happens at an event? What do I do? Help me, LOL!

Re: FAQ Forum Suggestion Box
Maybe I missed it but I was hoping to see a technique faq on foundation application, layering, blending etc. I've only just started using brushes and read someone saying to 'stipple and blend" then buff. what is that?
I checked in the cosmetic faqs but nothing there either??

1. Stippling is done with a brush with bristles -- not a taklon flat brush like the 190 or 191. Stippling is usually done with a 187/188 or a 109 -- or any similar brush. Stippling is kind of like blotting on the product in small areas.
2. After you stiple, you blend with the same brush -- again in small areas and then in broader strokes.
3. Buffing is what you do with a larger brush -- a brush like a 150 or again your 187 and that is usually done in circular motions all over your face.
You should take out your foundation and line up your brushes -- follow the basic moves and you will learn by practice. That is really the only way to learn.
