MAC FAQ: Breakdown of lipcolor product differences
Lipstick
Amplified Creme - Traditional creme lipstick with a bit more gloss.
Frost- Slightly sheer, creme formula with a definate pearl finish.
Glaze- Very sheer, moistly shiny formula. Adds some color, layers well.
Lustre- Semi-sheer, has a natural looking sheen like recently licked lips.
Matte- Shine free, powdery to the touch finish
Satin- Traditional retro creme lipstick.
Sheer- Think lip-balm. That's it.

Lipglass
A very shiny, very sticky lipgloss. Some colors contain pearl and/or glitter particles, while others are a creme. Comes in a variety of colors including clear. Doe foot applicator.

Chromeglass
Similar to lipglass or lustreglass, with a texture somewhere in-between the two. Very metallic finish, not so much glittery as it is a heavy pearl to metallic appearance. Brush applicator.

Lip Laquer
Liquid lipstick with shine. Has a shorter shelf life than lipglasses do. Brush applicator.

Lac Lustre
Liquid lipstick with a matte finish. Recently discontinued. Doe foot applicator.

Lustreglass
A thinner texture than lipglass, although still slightly tacky. A sheer frosty/glittery formula. Gives a hint of color without the opacity of lipglass. Some colors have more pearl/glitter than others, but all do contain either glitter or pearl and glitter. Brush applicator.

Lip Gelee
Sheer, glossy, lipgloss. Not sticky or tacky but a slick, smooth texture. Adds a slight tint to the lips, sheer color. Squeeze tube.

Tinted Lip Conditioner
A moisturizing lip treatment, with a slight tint. Lends more color to the lip than a sheer gloss like the lip gelees, with a natural healthy finish- not shiny and not matte. Comes in a variety of colors including clear. Pot and stick form.

PRO Longwear
Long-wearing lipcolor similar to Max Factor LipFinity. Consists of a liquid lipstick and a gloss coat. Additional gloss coats to provide a different finish are sold separately. Brush applicator.

Plushglass
A lip-plumper and colored lipgloss in one. Has a pearl finish. Doe-foot applicator.

See Thru Lipcolor
A water-based lipstain, similar to those which have existed from other brands for some time. Dry to a natural-matte finish. Doe-foot applicator.
