I love this lipstick but I can't give it a 5, for the following reason:

Viva Glam V is a lustre; it's sheer and, on some people, would be almost next to colorless. If you're looking for strong color in your lipstick, you would be disappointed (and I've read roundly that the Viva Glam V Lipglass has more color than the lipstick).

On the other hand, I like sheers and watery colors. VGV is a beautiful, neutral rose with a gleam of silvery-gold shimmer. It's moisturizing, stays put (for a sheer), goes with everything, yadda yadda...it's become my signature lipstick (at least for now) and I plan on repurchasing it.

Being one of the Viva Glam series, the profits go toward AIDS research so that's even better.

In conclusion, if you want color, you might skip this one (and possibly check out the VGV Lipglass). If you want a beautiful watery-rose sheer with the glimmer, then by all means try this one.

General Comments on this product:
This is a pinky-orangy-brown color with pearl to it. It is similar in color to High Tea, only slighly darker and more brown/orange. Personally, I prefer High Tea over Viva Glam V, but can see that Viva Glam V would suit darker skin tones a bit better perhaps than High Tea would.

I was recommended the Viva Glam V at my MAC counter, and I absolutely love it.. Its perfect for when I have a bold eye look, and want to keep the lips toned down. Very natural looking, nearly matches my lip color. I am VERY fair... so a lot of times even the pale shades look like clown makeup on me, so I find that VGV is a total BLESSING! And when the money goes to the Aid foundation- I could hardly feel guilty about buying it! Would DEFINITELY purchase again.

I love this color.. yes, it's a wonderful ylbb shade for me.. as martygreenes says, i have dark skin so it suits me very well.. the lipglass is amazing too!

This is the only lipstick I own that I still like after 6 months. I can wear this w/ every eye look, without giving me the clowneffect or looking dull. And still lives after being throwed/fallen on the floor for a million times (I am stupid, I drop everything my hands touch )

General Comments on this product: This is my HG lipstick. A nice pinky brown with shimmer. Looks awesome with everything I can think of to pair it with. Smells great.. feels great on... this is the only lipstick I have come close to using up.

I got this for Mother's Day along with the Lipglass. I have worn this almost every time I reach for a Lipstick. It goes well with everything I have. Maybe a HG for me

I love how soft it feels on my lips. The color is great because as mentioned above it goes with everything. It lasts pretty long on too. I am more of a gloss girl and I am very picky with lipstick because I like more neutral colors I don't like colors that stand out or are too bright. I would continue to purchase this lipstick for a very long time.

I love this lipstick very much, it's sa soft beige/rose with golden shimmer but it's less pigmented than the lipglass.
I usually use this with Stripdown l/l and the Viva Glam V l/g and it looks really pretty.
I also love how all of the money from the sale of this color goes to charity.

I like this lipstick- it is very complimentary. I also use it with STripdown and it is nice. I am not thrilled with it and once I found another color very similar for a lot less (Milani Pink Chiffon in the Sheer lipstick line) that is even nicer and smells similar, I started buying that. Now I can save my MAC purchases for really unique colors.

This color will go with EVERYTHING! Its a neutral pink that everyone should own. Another plus is that proceeds go to a an AIDS fund. For a YLBB look, i wear this with subculture l/l and a clear gloss. I would not buy it again because it looks like L'oreal Color of Hope in a way. Also i have other YLBB l/s.

Viva Glam V is always in my purse, it's one of my go to's if I do not want to wear lipgloss. I think this color looks good on all ranges of skin tone. The color is not overpowering and just gives a nice color to your lips. I sometimes even put the Viva Glam V lipglass over the lipstick to give it that kind of wet look. Looks great combined together.

Such a great shade - neutral but without being boring. This is my go-to shade if I don't know what to wear, it goes with everything.

Added bonus - all proceeds go to AIDS research. Love that.

I LOVE this lipstick! It is by far the best MAC lipstick I own. The color is the perfect "everyday -not-too-much, not-too-little" color. It has a touch of frost so my lips look shiny and the color is not too pink, not too peach, not too brown...it's the goldilocks of lipstick - it's just right!
