General Comments on this product:
I tried this, since it is replacing my staple Studio Finish Matte. This is a definate no-go for me. The coverage is thin to non-existant, and the supposed "buildable" coverage didn't work either. It had an odd oily feel from the moisturizers they added, which didn't help my already oily/combo skin. It didn't dry matte at all, dried more like the Studio Finish Satin, which is also being discontinued and replaced by this. I was wondering how they would appease the matte and satin wearers. Even powdering this didn't make it very long lasting at all. It separated on my skin, and just turned into an odd quasi-greasy slick that I had to wash off after about an hour and a half. This product comes in a glass bottle, which I dislike, as it breaks easily and is heavy, and must be poured out increasing the likelihood of dispensing too much product.

I really love this foundation. It's great for people with decent skin who just want to even their skin tone. If needed I simply put concealer on top to hide blemishes or scars. I use it with my #187 stippling brush and it makes my skin look airbrushed. The packaging is great for me. It is very sanitary and I'm a clean freak. But the bottle can leak a little if you leave the bottle on its side- but it's not so much of a problem to prevent me from repurchasing.
Update: I'm changing my review. I stopped using this for a while and my skin really cleared up. The next time I used it (a few days ago) my skin broke out horrible and in places I usually don't break up. Beware with this one.

I bought this in a rush as I wanted to replace my studio foundation in stick for a slighly less coverage foundation. I am a NW15 on the stick one, I have found that the select spf 15 its not only darker but also showed yellowish patches around my face in pictures (and happened several times and put it quite carefully). I feel it didnt do anything for me and just made me look crap, I am not purchasing this again unless they make a same colour as the studio one wich completelly matches my skin tone. I supose this one could be okay with darker skin tones tho.

i agree with the above poster that this runs a little dark. i'm usually an NC/NW25-30 (depending on the season and foundation) but in this one i'm an NW20. i also the bottle is crap, it's glass and could break, and i hate having to dump it out. it should be in a squeeze bottle.
but other than that, i love this. i agree with TipTopTap that this is perfect for people who just need to even out their skin a little. it's sheer, with just a little more coverage than select tint. but unlike select tint, this didn't make my combo/oily/acne prone 16 year old skin greasy or break out. it has a nice satiny finish, which is easily made matte with a light dusting of powder (i use clinique's blended loose powder). i just love this foundation.

The bottle is crap. It's glass, heavy, and I'm afraid to keeping it in my bag in case it breaks.
But on the product itself, I like the coverage it provides. It's great for evening out the skintone, and provides a satiny finish.

Comments: This is the one that I used the most out of all the MAC foundations that I've tried. As in I actually went back to get it again after finishing it once! My only problem is I get a bit oily during the day, but nothing a little absorbing film/blotting papers can fix or whatever they're called. Sometimes, I blend two shades to get a better-matching colour for my skin.

General Comments on this product:
Well for a liquid foundation I found this to be quite good. I love how it has an SPF 15, and I don't use foundation on a regular basis, but as far as I've noticed, this does not make me break out-and I have VERY acne-prone, oily skin. Without a primer it slides a TINY bit after about 6-8 hours, but I don't notice an unfavorable color change or anything. I wish MAC would make an oil-free version though, but you should be fine if you have a good blotting product.

Let me start by saying the first MA to "match me" for this matched me as NW25, so basically a darker pink toned version of me. I am actually a NC20 and considering the fact that I am asian alone - I have yellow undertones (woahh! surprise ). I finally got a sample of NC20 in this and it's great when I don't want to look too made up and want to let my skin "breathe" some during the day and still have some coverage. This was my "replacement" for The Body Shop - Tea tree oil foundation in medium which is my all time favorite, but sadly discontinued.

Buy Again? NO WAY
Ok i have tried all the MAC foundations with no luck whatsoever. All three that i have tried have broke me out like crazy!! i tried to have hopes that this one would work but it failed also. I convinced my cousin to try this too after the last MAC foundation and she broke out even more. I dont know what it is about their foundation. they do have excellent selection of colors though. I am now using mineral foundation.

The main problem with this one, is that it turned orange-y and blotchy after a few hours. It also flaked up on my dry skin even though I exfoliate and moisturize. Not suprising because I have that problem with other foundations I have used for dry skin. I seem to have problems with mac foundations regarding the orange-y effect and blotchyness. Unfortunately it had an untimely death when it fell off the sink and smashed into a million pieces so I coudn't even use it for b2m. BOO HOO =(

The lady at the MAC counter gave me this one instead of The liquid version of Studio fix and I didn't realize until after I got home. I'd already done an exchange on the studio fix powder to get the liquid one but instead I got this. It has a yellow undertone which I don't like and it gets blotchy in certain spots plus it's in a glass bottle and I paid $29 Canadian for it, certainly not worth it.

When the MA put it on me it looked great... I never really used foundation before because I had really good skin... a pimple a month was all I used to get. This all changed after I bought this foundation. 3 days after I bought it I noticed that my forehead started to breakout! I'm switching to liquid studio fix.

The foundation turned orange on my skin, as well as causing a huge breakout. I have fairly normal skin, and I was shocked when this happened. I would never buy this again

Would you buy this again: I think so!!
I bought this at the weekend having run out of Studio Fix Fluid. I have acne prone skin and am quite pigmentally challenged (pale) and have recently been feeling that SFF in NC15 isn't quite doing it for me. I tested Select on the back of my hand for texture and woah!! What a beautiful texture!!
I have been applying it with my 187 brush this week, but I'm not sure thats working quite right, so I'm going to try it with my regular foundation brush and a sponge and see what works best.
However, my skin is better, i have only a couple of new blemishes, whereas with the SFF I would have had more by now. My skin likes this a lot better. I prefer the lighter finish on it too, it feels and looks more natural, I've never been a fan of looking like I'm wearing foundation.

I really really wanted to like this foundation. I'm NC20 in all of MAC foundations and concealers that I've tried so far (Studio Fix Fluid, Select SPF 15, Studio Tech, Select Cover-Up, Select Moisture cover), but I think NC20 in Select SPF15 was a complete match with my skin, even more than Studio Fix Fluid.
Pro's:
+ i love how it feels when I apply it on my skin
+ exact match in colour
Cons:
- it gets all cakey and flakey immediately when I apply it (and this never happened to me with any other foundation, mac or non-mac)
- the coverage isn't that good
- i get shiny skin soon, blot powder or no blot powder over it
I always apply all of my foundations with a 190 brush, which wasn't a problem with any of them, except Select. I'm getting a 187 soon and will give this founadtion another go with that brush, i hope it works.

Made my skin feel kind of sticky and cakey, but still didn't offer alot of coverage. Also had to buy a pump for it.

When I first applied this, I loved it, it wasn't too heavy and because i don't need a lot of coverage that was great. However, in about two days I started having a HORRIBLE breakout. I NEVER break out, ever. I will not be using this product again.

I used this foundation in NW43 for several years. I love the light coverage and near perfect match for my skin. My skin is normal but tends towards slightly dry. The only reason that I have began experimenting with other foundations is because the NW43 color has been discontinued. I did find a backup bottle at a CCO but it's just a matter of time before that one is gone too.

This was my first foundation from MAC. At first I really liked this foundation because it applied smoothly and didn`t make my skin look too made up. But the problem with it, is that it doesn`t seem to last long, and by the end of the day it doesn`t even look like I`m wearing any foundation at all. Also, it made my skin oily.
