Re: Blue Storm discussion
I just got my blue storm stuff today. I am so happy with Whirlwind, I have never used the MAC nail polish before, and I have to say... it's AWESOME! Great staying power and great color payoff. Only two coats for a good color.
Also the drying is quick, so I don't have one smudge, which happens all the time with me D:<
Feline is awesome. As is Stormwatch and Cloudburst. Cloudburst is just kind of like Suspicion IMO, but it's still worth it!
Blue Storm Eyeshadow is also GORGEOUS. It's perfect for football season coming up (I live in Chicago, so the Bears.) It's the perfect navy/brightblue color to go with my Rule shadow I am SO happy with everything I got today.

When I checked just then to see if they still had it online I was shocked to see it described as a black frost. Anyone else here have it and can tell me what you think? I don't think it looks anything like the pic they have on the MAC site. In the bottle it sure looks blue to me or maybe my sight has reaaly gone to hell.
i wonder if this is what i'm thinking of in looking for a charcoal/bluish silver frosted polish by mac.. i'll go check it out and swatch.. thanks!!

this almost sounds better to me than the actual swatch. i hope it looks like that on me. i bought the purple color from pandamonium so i want something drastically different.. but still purple lol

Thunder reminds me of Contrast in the pot. I hate Contrast.... does anybody notice the resemblance when they use it?

i love contrast! they look a little similar in the pot to me too. but contrast is a straight-up dark navy, where thunder is not as dark, but does have a purple cast to it. they are different enough to me.

Thanks, Erine. I also revisited the store and asked the far more experienced MA there and he confirmed that. The SA who helped me the first visit had only been on staff two months. : )
Also, I must VEHEMENTLY recant my initial reaction to Blue Storm e/s. I thought it was too bright. But I tried it on during my second visit and it is my favorite of the bunch. It looks great on! I don't have anything like it, so I grabbed that (it was the one with the fewest left in stock).
I will go back with my empties for the Thunder (which is what I'd hoped fertile would be...yuck) and Stormwatch (I don't have plumage or bottle green) and probably Cumulous. Oh, and Mystery.

You love Contrast? I got it last year for my birthday, and I REALLY disliked it. I returned it for Deep Truth, lol. My friend still hasn't noticed that that's not the exact shade she gave me. xD I'm horrible.

Some people say Plumage or Bottle Green, but to me it isn't like either. It's not as dark or chalky as Plumage (don't care for Plumage much myself) and it's much bluer than Bottle Green (which I ADORE).
Also, I know you didn't ask, but I feel compelled to say this because I just can't get over how good it looks: Big T over Stormwatch is BEAUTIFUL. There, I'll shut up now.

Whirlwind is already sold out in my two closest stores. I will try the Pro store.

Whirlwind is still available on the MAC site, but not Wildfire and they are doing free shipping again with any purchase code is FFAVE. My daughter loves the new shades, glad I got them early.

I actually kinda agree... I'm not really happy with the consistency of Thunder. It's a beautiful color in the pot, but maybe it's just my eyeshadow that isn't blending correctly for me and it's just.. blergh.

I love Thunder! No problem with consistency. It's on the light side and that's what I like. I know others use it as a crease color. I haven't tried that. I use it on my lid over Greenstroke of Bare Study p/p. It's so pretty with my NW20 coloring and blue eyes!

I too love Contrast. When I tried Thunder, it was a true purple on me where Contrast is navy blue softness all the way. They are both pretty!!

Re: Blue Storm discussion
Do you guys think that Contrast is almost a dup of Cloudburst? I had called my counter and had the m/a to pull some stuff for me so I could just run in real fast and I asked her about Cloudburst and she said it's almost the same as Contrast so I didn't get it. I did get Thunder but I haven't opened it to check it against Contrast.

Cloudburst is black. Black with blue pearl. But it doesn't look ANYTHING like Contrast. Cloudburst looks a lot like Suspicion from the Nocturnelle Collection IMO. I don't think it looks like Black Tied at all. And Thunder is more purpley than Contrast.

Re: Blue Storm discussion
I bought the three limited edition nail polish colors. Whirlwind, wildfire, and rainy day. I have to admit I LOVE THESE COLORS! Whirldwind and rainy day are my absolute favvvv. Wildfire is amazing too when you wanna just wear very dark colored nail polish that isnt black.

Indian Ink is a deep matte purple, whereas Thunder is a dark purple-blue with purple pearl.

Re: Blue Storm discussion
Ok, I'll do something that's probably not been done here on Specktra
so you can see how wonderfully black the eye kohl FELINE is ...
I've just received another one as a early Xmas gift
After several attempts to wash it off ....
second photo I used a wash cloth ...
see for yourself

Re: Blue Storm discussion
Atmospheric lipglass is so disgusting! I swatched it on my hand and thought the color was very pretty... then I applied it on my lips and I didn't realize that I was going to look like a corpse! It was awful. I returned it.
