Re: Dazzleglass Discussion
hmm im not sure if these are the real deal.. i purchased a pigment along with baby sparks and the packaging looks dodgy compared to my other real mac products i have..
i got a pigment called "accent red" and its a real purpley colour.. is this right?
Anyway i wasnt that stoked on baby sparks. i thought it would be silmilar to Snob lipstick but in a gloss however its pretty much just a boring light lipgloss. It makes my lips feel itchy from the glitter and has blue iridescent glitter in it which almost makes my lips a purpely tinge, not a good look at all!!
but if you loveeee glitter then youll love these

Sugar Rimmed has my name on it... unless it's a cool pink. Then it's not for me.

Re: Dazzleglass Discussion
I hope I am wrong but I suspect that the Baby Sparks Dazzleglass bought from ebay is fake.
I check out the box earlier on & realized that the weight of the product is so little compared to the regular size lipglass (the weight different is too much). But the actual size of dazzleglass is comparable to lipglass.
Further more, the barcode of dazzleglass is printed on the box. Wherelse regular barcodes are stickers which are paste on box instead.
What do you guys think?
**Update** Product name "Baby Sparks" is also printed on the box. Wherelse regular / LE MAC lipglasses got the product name imprinted on stickers then paste on box.

well this means that the seller is definatley dodgy. i knew it was too good to be true to get a foundation brush for US$22...
my fake ACCENT RED is purple... lilac purple. nothing red about it.
i wonder if mac are even launching a dazzleglass range or if its some rip off scam that the seller has done.
i thought they would be genuine because specktra had featured them on the home page. pretty dissapointing.
i dont think i will ever buy makeup off ebay anymore. you can never really know whats geniune.

....
Accent Red is not a true red. MAC describes it as:
Accent Red - Deep magenta with red and yellow pearl and purple/blue reflection.
This is spot on, IMO.

Re: Dazzleglass Discussion
Now I am confused. Are these Dazzleglasses sold on ebay now fakes or real MAC products? And which packaging will they have when they will be released officially?

we don't have any info on them yet because they aren't released until may 1. we won't get all the scoop until we go to update at the end of april.
i don't know if they are fake or not, but that's what you risk when buying stuff off ebay, especially when things haven't even been released yet. you have nothing to compare them to.

Re: Dazzleglass Discussion
My question is, what's the point of having 16 shades, when they all show up so sheer (and thus indistinguishable) on swatches/lips?

Re: Dazzleglass Discussion
well I've found that different pearls really do make a difference for when the light hits the lips (ie things with blue pearl look blueish when the light hits vs. like a pink pearl which looks pink) And just like there are many tints to Tendertones, I find they do make a bit of difference on your lips (to some it may be hard to see b/w say a red vs. a raspberry sheerly tinted thing) but to some they notice it. Or just want a few diff colours for a bit of differences.
I get what you're saying though, I'm thinking I'm not going to go nuts getting too many

Re: Dazzleglass Discussion
Totally agree. I am a sucker for red pearl. These are great for layering over lipsticks as well.

Re: Dazzleglass Discussion
some of these look pretty cute.
i think i'll only be picking up one or two though...the amount of glitter in them doesn't seem appropriate for my line of work hahaha.
i wonder if they're sticky? that will KILL them for me, if they are.

Re: Dazzleglass Discussion
I bought Baby Sparks and Comet Blue off eBay some time ago and as someone else said: I'll eat my left arm if these earlier sellers were fakes. There's no way. And as far as the payoff, glitter, etc. these glosses are so amazing. There is NO chunky glitter feel on your lips and from what I can tell from the two I bought, the glitter is different -- sort of like their loose glitters how they "reflect" different colors.
As tame as I usually am, I wear the Comet Blue over TONS of pink and red lipsticks and it NEVER fails to look HOT! My BF, who wouldn't likely notice if I wore fishsticks on my lips has made several comments on how my lips look with the dazzleglass.

Re: Dazzleglass Discussion
I got Money, Honey off eBay, glad to know its real LOL. Though, I have to admit, I don't really like it. The color is beautiful, don't get me wrong, but its SO sticky. I can get over the glitter but its really sticky. And I hate the applicator, I prefer the sponge applicator the lipglasses have.
