Re: Heatherette for MAC Discussion
OH. MY. GOD!!!!! Buying so much. Can't even handle it.
Well, I haven't bought anything since Matte2 (bought all of Metal-X but hated it so it all went back), so I guess I'm due for a major haul . . . oh gosh. Everything I want comes to ~$140 AFTER my discount . . . faints. Gonna have to do some trimming of the list before the big day!

Re: Heatherette for MAC Discussion
PS - I know I may be dumb, but . . . what exactly is the deal with Beauty Powders? What the heck are they? I've never really understood them. Are they basically just overglorified blush?
I've never been interested in them at all, but seeing as how the beauty powders for this collection have such AWESOME packaging, I'm tempted to pick one or both up. Which would you ladies and gents recommend for someone with NW20 skin? And for what purposes?

Re: Heatherette for MAC Discussion
After seeing those leaked Heatherette images on Ebay, I have to say I am more than willing to overlook the tacky packaging. Those lipsticks and glosses look amazing!!! I can't wait for this to come out, wooo!!!

I am definately more excited about this collection now, it's a shame the folder won't be available for sale...I would have carried that baby EVERYWHERE!

Re: Heatherette for MAC Discussion
Sorry if this is redundant but is this going to be at counters or only at stores?

I believe, as a rule, that glitters are not eye safe, since I have never heard of MAC saying anything besides that. However, I do know that people use them in the eye area, at least on Specktra. I think the warning has to do with the fact that the glitter particles contain sharper, cut edges that could scratch the eye if they got in. HTHS!

DO NEVER use any glitters IN the eye area.
On the eye lid, with a proper medium that will make them stick is ok, otherwise beware!
You can really become blind, no joke here.
I once had my cornea scratched but just by a piece of rust - dust from the street - and it was the worst pain I ever had in my life.
Fortunately it didn't affect my vision but often a glitter can cut the cornea and affect the vision nerves that don't grow back, so it is uncunrable.
Use a good a mixing medium: MAC mixing water or alcohol base, mxing eyeliner and mixing mascara gels.
On my sensitive eyes they are great with glitters, especially the thick alcohol base gel (even though they recommend it only for the body).

Does anyone know how Hollywood Nights lipstick will compare to Girl About Town lipstick? They look similar.

Re: Heatherette for MAC Discussion
I used 3-d Silver glitter before on a model for a show and held it together with eyelash glue and it stayed on perfect! Of course it was a little hard to get off at the end of the night and I don't recommend doing that for everyday, esp. by the eyes, but for a show it rocked! I can't wait to get another jar!!

I am NW 20, too, and I love Beauty powders!
I would say that Beauty Powders have less pigment than a blush but more shimmer (I love shimmer!). You will have a sheer and shimmering finish on your skin.
From Heatherette I will buy BP Alpha Girl, it is described as a pink shade with gold nuances.

It's by Felix da Housecat, and I can see how it could kind of sound like Richie (edit: it's Macaully Caulkin on the track). It's basically just a beat with the words "Money, success, fame, glamour" repeated ad nauseam. Since Heatherette styled the movie (right?) I wouldn't be surprised if they used that track.
PS - anybody know when the Pro Store will have this stuff for sale? I'm going to be in the city a few weeks before the official launch and was hoping I might get to pick it up early.
I listened to that song on Youtube, and it's definitely not the same thing. Perhaps similar. The song definitely sounded like Richie, not synthesized or anything, his actual voice with electro background music. He definitely says "Freaks" alot of times. I hope it's on the soundtrack for the collection at counters!!!
Also, about Beauty Powders, I am somewhat baffled by them as well. They seem to be like blushes, just different ingredients. They're generally smoother and more comfortable, with shades ranging from the glittery, shimmery, and metallic, to the soft and subtle satiny and more matte looking finishes.

Hate to keep asking, but does anyone have any clue when this collection will show up at the Pro store? I know they get stuff early, but how early?

This collection is totally unappealing to me, from the packaging to the colors.
