Re: Heatherette for MAC Discussion
AHH!!! I just got my Heatherette in the mail today! After seeing all this confusion, I'm so glad I CPed it!
Alpha girl is so pretty! It looks fairly subtle, but on my less than NC15, it could easily be used as a blush with a soft 'glow' about it. I'd say it is a fusion of peach and pink, the closest thing in my collection that I could compare it too is Orgasm, but better And Lollipop Loving....just....gorgeous!! It is such a beautiful peach with pink tones and the gold irridescents that hints at green in certain lights is to die for!! I am seriously contemplating a back up of this!!
And the best part is that there is a sealant/clear plastic coating that goes over the holigraphic designs, so they won't wear away, which was one of my biggest concerns!

Re: Heatherette for MAC Discussion
Wow I have some catching up to do in this thread...
I attempted to go to the Macy's counter at Downtown Crossing in Boston, but unfortunately their shipment (along with the shipment to many different Macy's stores on the east coast) was "lost" in transit. So these stores won't have Heatherette until next week. I wish I had called first to make sure they had it out, because I didn't have enough time to go to the MAC store if I wanted to make my class this morning. Well...I decided I wanted Heatherette more, so I went anyway. I picked up:
-both trios
-Alpha Girl beauty powder (they didn't get Smooth Harmony for some reason)
-Melrose Mood & Hollywood Nights lipsticks
-Style Minx lipglass
-all 4 liners
-Perky paint pot (finally decided to get it)
For a grand total of...$222.08. Ouch. Good thing my tax refund is coming soon!
I was pretty disappointed in Lollipop Lovin' - when I swatched it on my hand I could barely see it on my skin. I tried it on and it was pretty much just shimmer on my lips. Pretty, but I wanted color. Sock Hop was pretty translucent on me too. I guess I was just hoping for a more opaque coral out of one of them. Oh well, less money to spend! I have pretty pigmented lips so I wasn't that surprised, after seeing the swatches here...
Melrose Mood is very unique, and it'll be a challenge to make it work for me...it's definitely not a color I'm used to wearing. Hollywood Nights is now the brightest pink I own, and it looks so gorgeous with Style Minx. Even though I got both Fun N Sexy and Totally It from Fafi, they're nothing like these.
Alpha Girl is my first beauty powder. I haven't played with it yet but it looks so pretty.

Wow, this is great! I also bought Fun 'n' Sexy and Totally It from Fafi, but I am sure to get Hollywood Nights and Style Minx as well.
Can't have enough hot pink lippies for summer!

You girls who have already bought your Hollywood Nights... How does the color compare to Girl About Town? I hate ACs, (although I will get Melrose Mood... Just too special to pass up!) and am hoping that HN will be a good replacement.

Hey! Did you go to the store on Newbury St? I went there too this morning.
Here's what I picked up:
Hollywood Nights L/S
Melrose Mood L/S
Fleshpot L/S
Bonus Beat L/G
Style Minx L/G
Starlet Kiss L/G
Alpha Girl B/P
Pink Pearl Pigment
I love all the lip products I bought. I thought Melrose Mood was going to be a scary mod pink like Out to Shock, but it's actually very wearable, especially with Starlet Kiss on top. I didn't think I was going to like Fleshpot, but it actually looks pretty cool - it probably wouldn't work on ladies with darker skin though (I'm NW15). I love all hot pinks, so of course I love Hollywood Nights.
I passed on Lollipop Loving and Sock Hop. Coral does not suit me.
The pencils were very nice, but the glitter scares me. I have the Softsparkle Pencil set from the holiday collection and I never use them. The other sides of the pencils are nice though - nice and creamy and they glide on easily. Reminds me of the UD 24/7 pencils.
I was a little disappointed in the trios. The only thing special in either one was Mood Ring, and I don't know if I can justify spending $32.50 for one e/s.

Re: Heatherette for MAC Discussion
I just loved Melrose Mood - I didn't think i could wear it either, but one coat is just beautiful. I've had Fleshpot for a long time - i've used it to tone down my own lip color so that lipglasses & other lipstick colors show up better.

Yep! I was there around 10:20-10:30am I think. Someone was checking out when I came in, and then I was the only one there until I left. A very different shopping atmosphere than the weekends when they're packed!
I definitely agree about Melrose Mood becoming more wearable with the gloss...I passed on Starlet Kiss because I have so many light pinks already. And I played with the pencils a little bit ago, I love how creamy the dark ends are. That surprised me. I like the softsparkle pencils, I should really use them more than I do.
I'm addicted to eye palettes so there was no question I'd be adding those to my collection.

Re: Heatherette for MAC Discussion
So I went yesterday and picked up
Hollywood Nights
Melrose Mood
Sock Hop
Starlet Kiss
I was extremely disappointed with Lollipop Loving :-( hardly any color pay off, just iridescent green/gold shimmers. I thought that it would be a nice coral to add to my collection but I noticed later that it is a glaze finish which is obviously the reason for the poor color pay off on my NW45 tone. I'll just stick to missy.
I really wanted to love Smooth Harmony but again you couldn't even notice it on my complexion so I didn't bother with that. I didn't try on Alpha girl because I'm not a pink blush/bp lover BUT I think that I will give it a try and probably purchase it anyway.
I didn't buy either pallet because they were similar to colors I have from other cosmetic lines and I'm not a huge fan of mac e/s anymore; but dang they are just too cute! Hmmm pondering....
I love all the lip products love love them!!!! Hollywood Nights is definitely the brightest pink I own also. I wore it last night with malibu barble l/g and woooow. Melrose Mood and Scarlet Kiss are just loooove. I have to find a way to work them with my skin tone though but regardless I just love them. Bonus beat and Flesh pot looked similar to C-thru and Siss when I tried them on so I skipped those. I will pick up Style Minx when I go back.
I loved all of the liners but I don't really need anymore liners otherwise I would be all over them. They glide on to the skin and the colors are so pretty.
I forgot to pick up the lashes :-( so I have to go back for those too lol.
The packaging is gorgeous and good quality.. you don't have to worry about the designs or logos fading.

Re: Heatherette for MAC Discussion
In terms of what I purchased:
1. Style Minx: I really like this lipglass and its very pigmented on me. I like it better than the Totally It from Fafi.
2. Hollywood Nights: LOVE this. The same as Style Minx. What I like about it is, when I add the Style Minx to it, the color doesnt move around. Thats what happens when I put Totally It lipglass over Fun N Sexy.
3. I only tried the Trio 2 and so far I like it. It made me wish I didnt buy the Fafi Quad with the Pink in it because it looks basically the same.
4. The smooth harmony powder blends right into my skin so I dont know about this one.
5. Even though I purchase the Starlet Kiss and the Melrose Mood, I'm wondering if I made a mistake because my skintone is very golden and yellow. So my fear is it might be too cool toned. What do you think? (I'm a NC 45)
6. I have yet to find out what eye makeup would go with the Sock Hop and the Lollipop Loving.

Re: Heatherette for MAC Discussion
I went ahead and cancelled my order online since it was only Lollipop Loving and Sock Hop. I called my Macy's counter and they said they did get Heatherette in and its been dead this morning, so I'm hoping people won't just jump and go get everything later today LOL. Though, it could happen.
I'll have more money tomorrow which is why I want to wait. At $3.69 a gallon I don't want to make two trips down there. I probably should have asked if she could hold at the very least Lollipop and Sock Hop for me... Though, if all else fails I'm sure I'll still be able to get it online through MAC or Macy's, right? Its all I really want but since my dad just paid my cellphone bill I have extra money so I might as well see in person if I really want anything else...

Re: Heatherette for MAC Discussion
eveyone keeps saying that the bps blend into their skin and they only see a glow. thats what they are supposed to do. especially these two. alpha girl is more suited to lighter skintones, and smooth harmony is more for darker ones. but lighter skin tones can use smooth harmony as a bronzer. beauty powders aren't designed to give color, just a soft glow on the high planes of the face. if you want color, use a blush, or better yet, one of the new beauty powder blushes!

I am totally aware of that. I wanted Smooth Harmony to use as an all over powder for give me a soft glow or as a highlighter. I didn't want any shimmer, glitter, nada just something to add softness to my complexion but it didn't deliver imo. I think that it would definitely look pretty on someone slightly darker or lighter but I did absolutely nothing for me. No glow, nothing.
