Meh. Quietly is pretty but it looks like a lighter version of Violet. It also looks like the purple side of my Mi Lady. I think I'll pass.

Re: MAC - Holiday 2008 "Red She Said" Discussion
I don't want anything from Little Darlings, thank goodness! I don't need mini lipglasses and stuff. And no Soft Sparkles for me either.
Man... mini paint pots would have so been the stuff.

Re: MAC - Holiday 2008 "Red She Said" Discussion
I LOVE LOVE LOVE how they changed the lipglass/lustreglass sets from Warm/Cool to acutal color families - pink, coral, and neutral! I am definately getting the neutral set, and possibly the pink set as well

All of you who use lustreglasses (any colour) - would you say lustreglass is similar to lipglass (consistency, feeling on the lips..)?

Re: MAC - Holiday 2008 "Red She Said" Discussion
First off there's the Neutral Lips set which comprises of two lipsticks, Soft Spot(sheer light neutral pink with gold) and Real Treasure ( a creamy mid-tone brown pink with pearl). there's also the My Dear Lipglass, which is a natural peach beige with pearl).
Then we have the Rose Lips set which has the To Swoon For lippie (sheer mid-tone blue pink) and Romancin' (mid-tone plum with pearl). Accompanying it is the Delicate Crush (clean pastel pink) Lipglass.
Finally, there's the Red Lips set. this has Adore It (bright clear red) and Racy ( a frosty mid-tone burnt red) with the Frostlight Lipglass( clear glaze with white pearl).
Ahhh I want the Rose and maybe the Red lips!!

I LOVE Lustreglass. It is much smoother and less sticky than lipglass. They are sheerer too. They aren't as "non-sticky" as lip gelees, but IMO, obviously less sticky than regular lipglass. They are usually have more sparkle too

Re: MAC - Holiday 2008 "Red She Said" Discussion
Thank you Audrey I might have to try them now!
I was looking at the ingredients list and comparing it to Lipglasses and there's quite different stuff on the list. I might give it a go - as much as I love the colours and consistency of the lipglasses I've got some kind of allergic reaction to them, that's why I'm a bit scared to use lustreglasses. But if they dont work out for me I can always give them to my sis

I don't have an allergic reaction, but I can not wear lipglass on bare lips. I have to put lipstick under it first, or my lips dry out and crack terribly. I wear my lustreglass alone all the time, with no problems at all. I am on my third tube of Instant Gold!

Re: MAC - Holiday 2008 "Red She Said" Discussion
Oh I see! Heehee I think I'll get the set for my sis and if lustreglasses give me the same rashes as lipglasses then I'm gonna give the rest of them to her (apart from the tube I'd use of course). Oh I hope they'll be fine, I'm looking at the lustreglass shades online now and most of them seem so wearable and pretty. Instant Gold looks

Re: MAC - Holiday 2008 "Red She Said" Discussion
Okay, so now I want the smokey eye palette (Fascinating Ruby), the purpley/pinky eye palette(Infatuating Rose), the cool pigments (hello - Quietly anyone?!), two brush sets, the little darling lipgloss set (how cute?!)and... erm... that's all I can think of for now.
PLEASE stop posting pictures. Considering I hardly wanted anything from this collection to begin with, it's costing me a bloody fortune!

Same here. I recently got a sample of Quietly and I really don't think it's all that. Maybe cooler toned people would feel differently tho.

Re: MAC - Holiday 2008 "Red She Said" Discussion
CRAP CRAP CRAP. I'll be spending about $200 on these collections.
UGH.
Why why why do the palettes look better than last years?! (To me, the smoky and cool are better this year than last year.)
Hopefully we'll get info on the finishes so I can decide better. So far Smoky is a definite for me!
I want to know the lipstick finishes as well. If one of the lippies is going to be a lustre, I'm going to forget the lip set I want. Even though the bag is so freaking cute.. I really just want the bag.
And about $50 from Sheer Minerals. This better be all that I'm spending the rest of the year. I'm skipping so much just for the holiday and Sheer Minerals.

Re: MAC - Holiday 2008 "Red She Said" Discussion
oh man, I was just going to stick to the cool pigments and no palette because I don't like the eye shadow colors (though I love the packaging!), but now that I see the little darlings sets, crap, now my list goes like this:
- Cool pigments set
- Neutral lippie set
... I need to see some swatches

Re: MAC - Holiday 2008 "Red She Said" Discussion
The more and more swatches I see.. the more I want.
This is awful. D:
I'm praying that some of these finishes are crap. I know that won't happen with Smoky eyes, but with the cool palette, if there is one lustre in there.. I won't get it. I've learned my lesson. Hahahah. Especially since I wouldn't want to destroy and depot from these palettes, so these colors and finishes better be pretty damn good if I'm paying $36+ for these palettes. And with the lip sets, if there is one lippie that is even a lustre, I won't go for it. There are no words to describe how much I HATE the lustre formula. I want a frost and satin/amplified creme/glaze. Thanks.
