I feel bad for spending almost $20 CAD on an eyeshadow ..

Don't feel bad...you probably would have spent that on somethign like ...a couple fast food purchases, etc...and the e/s will last a lot longer...Thats how I justify lol...somehow it works...cuz I do blow crazy money on useless stuff all the time..that only lasts for a day

I so want Rated R now!!! Even though it's on Nordies' website and the $8.00 shipping is what kills it. It's worth the risk. I can't wait to get Style Snob and One-Off this week!

I am wearing Rated R today and Fly by Blu! I have solar white as a highlight, Flip in the inner 1/3rd, Rated R in outer2/3rds, Amber Lights in the crease and Fly by Blu as a liner. Rated R is what I wished Bitter had been! So gorgeous and great texture!

I don't know either - it's very bizarre. I went yesterday to get S&D at my fav nordies from my fav MUA, but she said they never got it. I may have to order it from MAC - free shipping again through midnight tonight.

That sounds like a gorgeous combo! I might have to try that one out.

I need start using some of these eye shadows more. I have only used unbasic white and style snob so far.

That's how I try to justify it ! Then the boyfriend tells me I am just convincing myself that it's alright ..

But whatever makes my e/s cravings happy right .. who cares if I'm convincing myself

Where can I get empty quads? The depotting sounds good, since I love lippies but I can't justify spending anymore money on them, so the empties will allow me to B2M and get a free l/s.

You can get empty quads at freestanding MAC stores. I also know that they offer them online or at least they do in the US.

winnie, you could get the quads which are super cheap at any pro-store and the online canada and us sells them. im not sure about singapore though. but it can be easily be CPed for you.

for depotting, i recommend the flat iron method! its super easy

But I'm too impatient so sometimes I crack the product slightly while depotting.

*gasps* i'd freak if my eyeshadows crack! my very first eyeshadow broke but it was a crappy one. beauty sleep... its so chalky and gross =S but i do have a very broken cork which makes me sad everytime ir each for it.. like everyday T_T

i was impatient with pandamonium so the edges cracked a bit so its got this very shallow dike going around it lol. still looks fine though!

dont you hate the toxic plastic smell!

Winnie, the store at Taka should have the quads, 5 got my palettes from them.
Maybe you should try to depot with the hair dryer method, it's easy peasy and the plastic doesn't melt.
I found the tutorial here on Specktra but I can't remember where!

A hair dryer works just as well - just pop the plastic pan out of the 'pod' and hold the dryer on the back of it for about 60 seconds (I use a pair of bamboo tongs to hold it so I don't burn my fingers) then just gently pry the pan out with either an exacto knife or a dental pick tool. If you want to put a magnet on it, you can do so at this step. Then 'blow dry' the label for about 15 seconds to get it off the 'pod'. You shouldn't have any cracking or breaking if the glue is soft enough.

Enkore has a great tutorial on Youtube using the wirecutter and alcohol method. No bad smells, no risk of burns, and so far for me much less risk of cracking your shadows:

i tried enkore's method once and annoyingly i chipped a shadow. so have used my ghd's every time since
