Re: MAC - Lustre Twins Discussion
Even though i really love the colour swatch of Ripe and Ready... i decided to wait til someone buys it and tells us her or his thoughts. If it's really as drying as other girls say, then I'm not sure if i want it.

Re: MAC - Lustre Twins Discussion
Custom Rose / Pink Virtue
Boss brown / Slave to Pink
Pink Air / White Top
Red Reflection / Mirror
Ripe and Ready / Soft and Lush
Gypsy Rose / Shimmer it
All of these, please!!!
Custom Rose / Pink Virtue and Ripe and Ready / Soft and Lush look so gorgeous. I think they will go really well with some of the items I've bought from recent collections (electroflash, colour forms, cool heat). Yay for me!!

Re: MAC - Lustre Twins Discussion
I'm skipping this one. I'm intending to buy basically all of Cult of Cherry AND I want ALL of Manish Arora, so... Got to cut back somewhere?

Re: MAC - Lustre Twins Discussion
Well it looks like I am one of the few that is KINDA happy for this collection. I'm more of a lip gloss person, but when I do wear lipstick I love the longwears. All other kinds I have tried "feather" on my lips. Where the color just kind of feathers and blotches... but MAC's never do that. Only other place I found to have great long wears is Avon.
Pink Air/White Top & Boss Brown/Slave to Pink look AWESOME on KarlaSugar's swatches!!! Those two puppies are MINE!

Re: MAC - Lustre Twins Discussion
I thought longwears would suck. But these look too pretty for me to pass up! I might try one to see if it gets gunky on my lips and then go from there...

Re: MAC - Lustre Twins Discussion
I saw these at my Nordies counter today, they looked gorgeous in the tube & swatched on the back of my hand. I wasn't able to try them on my lips, but I think I might try 1 or 2.

Re: MAC - Lustre Twins Discussion
I tried em on my hand and i got one though i wanted more. I was very impressed with the color range and don't mind the dryness of the lipstick portion. The lustre gloss sides are definitely very sheer.

Re: MAC - Lustre Twins Discussion
Just by the description, I was drawn to Ripe and Ready / Soft and Lush. And after seeing swatches, that's definitely the only one I want! Soooo pretty. I have never tried MAC's longwears because any other longwears have been too drying. But of course, I'm being suckered in by the color... damn you, MAC!

Re: MAC - Lustre Twins Discussion
For a brief moment I was really into the Longwears because if you apply them right, i.e. apply the color andwait a good 60 seconds before applying the gloss so the longwear side can "set", they do last all day with no clumping. i also did not experience any dry feeling with them as long as I reapplied the gloss here and there, BUT that's too much work for a lipstick for me and I abandonded them. Of course the colors look so scrumptous I MIGHT change my mind....damn you MAC!

That's so funny, we posted at the same time and both ended with Damn you MAC! It's a universal feeling I guess!!

Re: MAC - Lustre Twins Discussion
Hmm, how to describe the lipstick portion. Its not sticky at all, just super thin. When I say dry I don't mean like feathering matte dry, they just leave your lips... hmmm not slide-able? Does that kind of make sense? The gloss makes it all good of course.
Note: My lips still look pristine at 232 pm (i applied mine at 7am) Woot! This is after 3 cups of tea, a glass of water, one cup of coffee and breakfast.

Re: MAC - Lustre Twins Discussion
Stopped by one of my local counters today and they had Starflash and Lustres both out. Initially I wanted the shadows more but was less than impressed. Then I looked at the Lustres and started playing. I ended up with Red Flame/Orange Flicker and Red Reflection/Mirror. Let me tell you...I LOVE these.
So to all my red lip gals out there (and I know that there are ALOT of us) stop by and play with these before just passing them up. Red Flame/Orange Flicker is HOT for a dramatic impact and a little something to get us primed for CoC.

Re: MAC - Lustre Twins Discussion
i met the love of my life today when i went to the mac counter, and he's called pink air/white top. i wasn't expecting to see the lustre twins stuff today as i thought it came out in august, but i'm glad i did. i recently fell in love with the pro longwear lipsticks because of long hours at work and little time to reapply during the day, but most of the previous colours were a little too bold for my taste and line of work, so i was pretty excited to hear mac was coming up with some new colours to add to the product line. as i type this, i'm feeling a very serious need to go back and pick up the new and improved boss brown. the new gloss that comes with alta moda is dreamy, maybe i should get in on that one, too. OH MY!
