Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion
I bought this after watching aboywearingmakeup 's tut on youtube. His face looked so flawless that I just had to get it! lol I bought it in Medium Plus as the MA suggested these mineralize powders do come darker.
All in all I love it! It does make my skin look and feel flawless. There is no itchiness, no rashes. And it evens out my skin tone looking so airbrushed! Im in loveeeee
But I do have one complaint. The stupid thing it comes in looks like an adult pacifier! And when you unscrew it, some of the loose powder comes out. Its so messy. I mean being creative is one thing, but come on now, lets design something easier and more useful!

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion
i am the worlds biggest pessimist, nothing ever works for me! so, yesterday, i finally ignored my morning sickness, achy body, tiredness and took my lazy behind to the mac store to pick this up! i got medium plus, the MA put it on with the 116 brush, and i loved it! i put it on at 11am, took a nap, played with my 2yr old, went to the park, and at 6pm, it was still on! not to complain or anything but the msfn worked well for a while then it stopped, then it did again, its different each day, so, i feel like nothing works consistently for me!!!!maybe this is different!!
sorry gals, feeling hormonal today!!! oh, ill probably try it with the 187 brush, or the applicator..the MA loves the applicator..she said its just easier..but she had the most amazing skin. im jealous!

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion
I got it yesterday I really liked the application quick and flawless the buffer on it is ok but it kept slipping off the handle. Lasted all day for me and normally makeup tends to melt off even with primers. So far so good for me.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion
I was so excited getting this product, as it was my first time to try out a mineralized powder foundation and I wasn't dissapointed! The only thing that I didn't like to much was that the coverage was a little too sheer for me, so I had to put on 2-3 layers, when I usually only put 1-2 with my other MAC powders (Studio Fix Powder Foundation), but I eventually got the desired result. Love the applicator, it feels so smooth on my face but also buffs it in nicely. It would be great if MAC designed an applicator like this seperate from the foundation, it would be awesome for buffing on my MSF (Porcelain Pink, love it!). This is also great for a quick fix when on the run and your out of time, or you don't want too much makeup on. A definite must have for MAC-addict!

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion
I was so excited to check these out today, since I'm always looking for a foundation that just looks like I'm not wearing any makeup (but with flawless skin ) . . . Unfortunately, this is not the product for me. Maybe if they expand the color range, but these are just not for me. I'm an NW20, and thought medium would work (I use medium blot powder), but both medium and medium light were MUCH too yellow for my skin. Wah wah. Oh well. I love my Studio Fix!

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion
I love this. I went to Mac yesterday and they tried it on me... I wasn't too impressed but I was already wearing Mineralize Satinfinish. I got a sample for I can try some at home and play around with it. I tried it this morning on its own... and i love it. My skin looks flawless and natural but has given me enough coverage for the red in my cheeks and nose. It feels really light as well.
I used a sponge to apply it and then I used MSF in Medium for my cheeks and nose and buffed everything in. I will definately alternate between using this and the mineralize satinfinish.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion
i checked the last few pages but it seems no one is as dumb as me
i didn't screw it back on well enough (though i thought i did) and the part with the powder dropped all over my carpet good thing the carpet is beige to begin with (not white or gray) so it's not an awful mess. but WARNING PLEASE CLOSE YOURS CAREFULLY! i wasted a lot of product because of my clumsiness~

You are not alone! I didn't spill mine on the carpet but all over my black suit pants! I thought that I had closed it well enough to tip it over to get more product but I guess I didn't because it went all over me.
And also I am still trying to make this product work for me. I just don't want to give it up because I LOVE the finish but don't like the things it is doing to my skin.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion
I got a sample of this MF in light medium, the MA suggested light for me first, but I could not believe and as I told her that I am NC 25 in SFF, she said, Light medium would be alright.
I tried this yesterday and I am not impressed by this, because:
- coverage is tooooooo sheer
- you need a lot of product to see anything
Today I put this over my tinted moisturizer and it looks okay. For me using this product alone the coverage is just not enough.
@ MS Piggy: I am also Asian, maybe you should get a sample of light medium and medium. This also darkens a little bit after a while.

I have the same colouring as you and I got Light Medium. As TheOnlyCrystal noted it darkens as the day goes on. If you tan a lot and are looking to use this over the summer, tho, you might want to consider Medium.
And k_im, if you went back a few more pages (pg. 8) you would've found out you're definitely not alone!

So that's my main beef with this foundation: the packaging. I find that sometimes the threads don't catch and I don't end up closing the cap all the way. I thought it did - I was closing it with two hands and putting it down with one and the bottom just fell down. My sis felt bad and said I could still use maybe the top of the pile not touching the floor but, um... no. lol. I'm not that desperate to keep the stuff!

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion
Aww I am sorry to hear that it happened to you too I have had better luck lately because I am keeping it on the bathroom counter and doublechecking that I have screwed it back on tightly.
I am also sorry to hear that the coverage is not working for a few of y'all. Perhaps I don't need heavy coverage but I think this one suits me just fine (at least for now). I was a little worried about running out (because so much spilled on my carpet) and it possibly not being perm so I bought another one just in case :X
I don't know if it darkens/oxidizes, but I love brushing against my face and feeling the silkiness of this product along with my fix+! I definitely think Medium is a good choice for me because I do get darker in the sun and it's just the beginning of summer so it would suck to buy a Light Medium and have it washing me out for the rest of the season. Now I just need to get myself some primer~
I read on MakeupMomma's blog that she used the 188 for application and I just tried it now and it works great! I still love the sponge though~

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion
The foundation is ok. For all you NC/NW15 girls out there who thought that Light would be too dark... it isn't =\
At least, not on me (NW15). I know.. weird, isn't it?
There's definately more coverage with this foundation than MSF Naturals- and yeah, it feels silky and barely there when you put it on. I'm not so keen on the finish though... it looks a little more chalky to me than MSF naturals too... I guess I'm just used to the glow that you get with them!
Right now, I'm using this with MSF Natural in Light Medium and Light on top (a bit of both since I'm in between!) to give the glowy natural finish I prefer. I guess the loose foundation is good in that I don't have to waste as much MSF N to get the coverage that I want- it makes things a lot faster, because I don't have to use as much product!
I've only used this product three times so far, so will update if there are any changes, but it's not making me oily or anything, and is holding up quite well.
ETA: This foundation is working quite well for me- and it saves me TONNES of time!! My skin is absolutely AWFUL right now, with redness and breakouts and SCARS EVERYWHERE... but with the help of my make up for ever full cover concealer for some serious spot concealing, this foundation and a little MSFN in Light Medium on top, all finished with fix+, this is what I ended up looking like last night (right):
I have NO idea why I still appear to be quite pink despite wearing this, which is supposed to be yellow toned lol. The only pink I had on my face was Light Flush by itself as a blush (not even as a highlight)... so go figure lol.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion
I saw this foundation IRL today for the first time. What should this be? I don't like the packaging and the applicator at all and it is definitely too loose for me!! If you aren't careful enough you have the powder everywhere. Nothing for me.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion
My initial response to this product is not so great. The package is slightly akward. The "capplicator" top is not very ergonomic. The colour naming protocol is goofy and unnecessarily complicated.
The coverage is nicely buildable, but I prefer MSF Naturals, which are IMO less drying.
To my tastes, I probably would not wear this on it's own, but rather buff a small amount over emollient foundation with a kabuki to set it. To be honest, I'm not one to make powder, mineral foundations my first choice anyway.

I do find that it seems quite "loose" at the display but I think that's from everyone trying it out and the caps not being on top. There isn't much "product poof" (for lack of a better description) when using it at home. The worst might be the first few applications but usually it just catches on the capplicator and transfers straight to you face. But if you've already found a great foundation it may not be worth the hassle. It is for me b/c I've had nothing as smooth, long-wearing and non-cakey like this so far!
It's so strange tho, that everyone's finding Mineralize Loose less glowy than MSF Naturals b/c I find the total opposite. Maybe I got a bad batch of the MSFN? Either way I'm loving ML. It wears well even without primer which is a huge plus for me!

I don't know if this has already been asked here but will they be available in Australia. I know i can buy it off cyber emporium but I would rather test it out before I buy it.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion
I bought this a couple of weeks ago! I loved the finish, but it didn't seem to having any lasting power on me. The lightest shade wasn't light enough for me anyway, so I took it back. If they had a fair shade, I definitely would buy it again. I think the light shade was too yellow for me..

I've been a faithful user of Bare Escentuals and I went and got a sample of this stuff and so far, I love it! But it doesn't seem to mix well with BE's mineral veil and concealor for me. Does everyone use this stuff alone or do you put something over it also?
