Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion
maybe they will be more specific. for example you NSF in NW40, or C8 or something.
Sorry to go off on a tangent but I think the N,C and W ranges worked better for my skin than the NW, NC stuff that they rolled out a few years ago.

i just saw this post - so sorry! i quite like this foundation, it's a nice low coverage one.
i do use the same colour as my other foundations - i'm an NC15. if i go for anything darker i usually have to lighten it and tone it down by mixing it with NW15 select cover up.
MAC_Whore: you are so right about us being their test market. i just think that when it comes to staple items (like foundation), it's a bit unfair to the product.
Most people have to search high and low to find the perfect staples for them. to make something like this LE means that a lot of people (who are not make up obsessed, that is) may not even bother to try it.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion
update, update!
-these are called mineralize spf15 foundation loose.
-they come out feb 7 at stores/nordstrom, and feb 14 everywhere else.
-they are a medium-buildable coverage depending on the brush you use. #150=medium, #190/#191=fuller
-you can change the finish. originally natural/natural matte. the more you buff, the more satin-y the finish becomes.
-it come with a sponge-top applicator, called the "capplicator". it is a sock- covered latex sponge (same as sponges sold at mac) applicator. 2 replacement socks come with the foundation. the socks apply and blend foundation in to the skin softer and smoother. DO NOT use the capplicator sponge without the sock. it gets dirty and cannot be replaced.
-it is a long-wearing foundation (6 hours)
-it contains wheat germ and vitamin e, which is makes it ideal for dry skin. it has been posted that BE is not liked among the dry skin population. this is the opposite. it doesn't cake onto dry flakes.
-both uva and uvb protection
it is LE at partnered locations, but permanent at mac stores. the shades are:
light - neutral pale ivory (permanent internationally only)
light medium - neutral light beige
medium - beige
medium plus - tan beige
medium dark - rich tan
medium deep - deep golden orange tan
dark - caramel
deep dark - deep caramel
deeper dark - milk chocolate
-these tend to run darker than the MSFNs
$29

So the lightest shade isn't even going to be available in Pro stores, much less the counters, in the US after it launches? Pass. There are pale women that live here, too, MAC! (ahem)

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion
YAY!! I am relieved that it'll be permanent in MAC Stores.
The coverage sounds dreamy, and I won't have 'swirl, tap, buff' stuck in my head.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion
BE has the Bismuth that I cannot work with. I hope that this one doesnot.
I use the MSF foundation but it has talc to bind it together in the dome (or so I was told). Talc makes my pores look huge. I was hoping that these would be something that will be good for those days when I don't need a whole face with primer/studio tech etc. I'm very excited to try this.

our book says is "may contain (+/-)" bismuth oxychloride. it is, however, talc free.

Same here. Between that and the likelihood of it containing bismuth I don't think I will be cheating on my Alima anytime soon.

Really the more I thought about this the less I like that MAC is apparently going to label the product this way. It may be one thing to say "may contain (+/-)" in a blush, but in a product that will go all over peoples' faces, and knowing the issues people have with that *particular* ingredient in MMU (people complain about it in BE, JI has removed it, etc.), the less than full disclosure is not cool.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion
I wonder which gives better coverage Mac mineralize Powder vs. Bare Escentuals...I want to buy mineral powder and stop using the liquid foundation. I would appreciate if I can get some feedback.

No one will be able to compare those 2 for you yet since the MAC product isn't out yet, but there's a great forum here dedicated to mineral makeup and it has lots of info about all the popular brands like BE, Alima, Everyday Minerals, etc.

it'll be released in the states. it just won't stay in the states. i'm sure it'll be available thru the 800# tho. lightful is an international collection (that was sent to some u.s. locations) that is available online and over the phone. it may be the same with the light color.
calm down people!

It's just frustrating that they release a product and initially offer it everywhere, with all the other colors and then after that, it's, "Sorry, you'll have to order it by phone and pay $8 shipping!" What a hassle. It goes a bit against their all races, sexes, ethnicities slogan they push so hard, in my opinion.

thank you
were are you located? there are some stores that carry the lightful skincare. you could stop by and get some info and samples. the foundations, however, are asia only (if they are perm). the reasons for this are because that type of product is more desirable in those locations, and the demographics show it sells more there. plus, certain ingredients require less testing overseas than they do here. that's why charged waters for example was released overseas first. more testing needed to be done in order for them to be sold here. or order online or call the 800# to ask if and how you can get international only products.
lightful skincare locations
-the bay (markville, oakridge, richmond)
-macys (east flushing, west concord, west waikiki)
-mac (ala moana, berkeley, beverly center, east bay, hollywood & highland, houston, milllenia, north park, north robertson, perimeter, robson, west edmonton, south beach, south coast plaza, sunvalley)
-saks beverly hills

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion
I've tried two different MMU brands and neither did it for me. I wonder if I will like this, although typically I don't trust MAC foundations. I am excited to see this though...
They should also make a MSF Natural in Deeper Dark.

Re: MAC Mineralize Powder Foundation Discussion
i can't wait to try this out. the last two (alima + bare escentuals) mmu brands that i tried made me look ashy (which i heard is typical of mmu on deeper skin tones). hopefully mac has come up with a solution to this problem.
