Re: MAC New View Discussion
Even though I'm really not feeling it, I may *possibly* be persuaded to get one just to keep in my purse for touch-ups. I love anything small and compact for those purposes, or multi-tasking. lol

To which other brush can you compare it in your opinion?

Re: MAC New View Discussion
I really think these are a great idea. I mean instead of reaching for a MSF Natural and a MSF in color, you can get it in 1. The colors look so good for summer. Looks like a sunkissed finish.

Re: MAC New View Discussion
oooh interesting! I don't have any MSFs...yet
Although, I changed to SF powder for the summer... if I use a MSF on top, will I look too chalky???

I don't think so. The MSFs are very light in finish.

Re: MAC New View Discussion
I use my full size Deep Dark msfn for contouring. I bought Dark also but it makes me look so orange and the next one up was Medium dark but that was too light.
Does anyone know if the colours have been re-formulated or are they the same?

Re: MAC New View Discussion
After seeing the pics I think I've changed my mind, if I'm out of my MSF natural by the time this collection is released I might just buy the Med Natural and Shimmer one....we'll see I guess.

Re: MAC New View Discussion
Hmmph, once again MAC has totally ignored their PPP customers by not including a Light MSF, just a Light Medium one. That makes it easy for me to give this collection a miss!

Re: MAC New View Discussion
The brush looks like a #190 foundation brush in shape. The differences seem to be:
- The 190 is synthetic, which is better for emollient products, whereas this new brush appears to be natural fibre (which makes sense, as it is being launched with a powder product).
- This new brush appears to have a looser bundle of fibres, which makes sense as it is being launched with powder products). Looser fibres will allow for easier blending.

Re: MAC New View Discussion
Sorry if this has already been asked but how much coverage do you get from this?
And I know the ingredients or whatever haven't been released (I think) but does anyone know if this will break you out? I never have good luck with MAC foundation but I want to try this!

first off, this isn't a foundation. its a sheer-medium coverage powder, depending on the brush you use. the non-shimmery side is the regular MSFN. not sure if the shimmery side is a regular MSF or a different formula, but its probably the same minus the veining.
some people have said that they break out or itch when using the MSF and MSFN, so it just depends on your skin.

Thank you!
I'll probably skip on this one. All the better though, more money for the other amazing collections

Re: MAC New View Discussion
Eh, I could see myself using one of these as a bronzer, so I guess it's not really an issue for me after all that there's no "light".

Re: MAC New View Discussion
It is indeed a new brush. It is called the #189 brush and has not been released before. I have a partial pic (the end is cut off).

Re: MAC New View Discussion
I am not a huge fan of the 190 so I hope that I like the 189 better for foundation. Does anyone know what the difference is?

by the looks of it, its made of natural fibers, so it can't be used for foundation, just powders. if you don't like the 190, try the 191. i hate the 190 now that the 191 is out.

Re: MAC New View Discussion
I dislike the #190 as well. For foundations, I prefer the #188 or #109. I like to use the #191 for a sharp contour line at the cheek bone. Once you blend it out, it looks totally natural and gives you great depth. When I use the #191 to contour, I generally contour with MAC's Cherche blushcreme (now DCd) or Tarte's Cheek Stain in Sunkissed. Trust me....gorgeous.

Re: MAC New View Discussion
You know, as I look at the new 189 brush, I am questioning whether or not it is natural fibres. At first glance, it appears natural, but as I look closer, it looks awfully close to the synthetic #223 and #169 from the Icon: Racquel collection. Those brushes were synthetic, but meant to mimic natural fibre. They were good for blending, but not really great at picking up the product. If the new 189 is this same synthetic fibre, I question its ability to pick up/hold the MSF. I will be more than a bit bummed.
