I hope they still have them October 22nd so I can use my birthday money on them instead of working my butt off begging my Mom for it .

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion
I go away for two days and I come back to MSF's? Specifically three that I was not willing to pay super-high prices for?

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion
For all the inquiries about So Ceylon, it's a beautiful bronzer with hint of blush. I use a 187, swirl lightly over SC, brush along cheeks, forehead, nose and decolletege, and man it glows, and NEVER MUDDY. I love this MSF, hope it's a permanent one. I'm not a fan of bronzers and this is the oneI can wear, even on lips with clear gloss and in the crease on the eyes. I am NC15 summer, N3 in winter.

same here. its kinda getting annoying. i love the MSF and MES, but it seems they're heading for too much of a good thing.

in addition to what newagetomatoz said, they are both made the same way-both start out as a liquid and are baked for 24 hours. neither of these can be depotted. they both contain 77 minerals (5 is necessary to be considered mineral).
the differences are:
-MSFN is for the entire face (face powder used to set foundation or wear alone, and you can touch up with these throughout the day and has a natural-matte finish
-MSF are shimmery, just for use on the high planes of the face or as a shadow
-MSF can be used wet to intensify the shimmer, MSFN CANNOT be used wet

Yeah i figured that much lmao. I tried to keep it a secret to one of my lovelies from here and when i broke down and told her which one she screamed at me lol.
I guess i have the gift of gab because i was yapping to them about how they are so good and one of the girls was like "Hey yall we got this one left and idk if you like this one" and she went in the stock room and brought it to me and like 2 seconds later after shrieking it was mine hehe lol

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion
I can't wait for this collection!!! This is the one that excites me the most of all the info posted yesterday. I sincerely hope that petticoat is part of this collection. I use petticoat almost everyday. I freaking love that MSF. I am excited to see if Gold Deposit and So Ceylon will work for my pale skin. I usually can get any MSF to work.

I think for those cooler toned gals that So Ceylon will look stunning on them!
I want all three now!!

I have a Petticoat but still had not find a way to make it works for me. It seems very frosty on my NC20 skin.

I have all three. NW15 or paler.
Honestly... while I have them, I don't really tend to reach for Gold Deposit or So Ceylon much. So Ceylon is a very rosy brown... and Gold Deposit is a bit too much on the orange side... then again, I never reach for any of my brown MSFs, so I guess I'm not such a great person to ask lol.
Petticoat however, is another matter. Depending on the veining you have, it can be super pigmented or very soft. I use the 188 with it and it's lovely. In my opinion, one of the best ones ever released- YES it is comparable with Stereo Rose, which I also have lol. They're both lovely, but very different.
That aside... I have two of each of these MSFs- and truthfully? That pink one looks nothing like Petticoat. It's quite different. Although the brown ones don't look like the old releases either (they look very ashy in that image), MAC promo image colours are usually a bit off, so I can't really say.
Petticoat doesn't have a mid pink veining in it... =\ It has really REALLY dark raspberry veining with gold veining. And the base colour is super pale pink.
Wanted to ask- does anyone know if MAC will have any new shades for the loose foundations? I have Light, but since it's winter now... it's just too dark And MSFN Light is too beigey pink!! urgh... I love the textures, but I need new colours...
ETA: Here are some photos of the old releases of these MSFs. Is it confirmed that they will be the ones to be rereleased? I will post them in the swatch forum if so. Otherwise... for now... enjoy!

Top 2- Gold Deposit, then So Ceylon

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion
I definitely don't think that these are Northern Light, Global Glow, and Gold Spill from the Flashtronic Collection, but to compare I used MAC's product images from both collections next to each other:
I then tried to compare product images of Petticoat, Gold Deposit, and So Ceylon (from Lingerie, Gold Play, and High Tea respectively) to the new MSF's. Unfortunately I wasn't able to locate a MAC image of So Ceylon, but I did find the others. I am *pretty sure* that I have the MSF's in Gold Play & the new collection labeled correctly, but its easy to fix if I got them wrong HTH!

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion
Wait a Second.... I just noticed that the petticoat in the new collection looks an awful lot like the Gold Spill image from the old flashtronic collection! Well it is - they photoshopped the colors:
I think rocking chick had it half right - the product images are taken from flashtronic, but they changed the colors in them to (sort of) resemble the MSF's to be released (which will not be the same as those in flashtronic). Well gee MAC, no wonder your product images are known for being so off in color - they're not even images of the actual products!
Alright - enough detective work for one day, I gotta get back to writing the thesis

Wow, you're right. I was so upset b/c I really didn't think petticoat was going to be released, based on the pics. But, thanks to your detective work, it seems obvious that they just changed the colors on an already existing pic. Now I have a renewed hope for petticoat!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks!!!

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion
Yeah, I've noticed that a lot on their website when looking as descriptions of colors (like lipglass). I really wish they would just take the time to swatch the color. Not only would it give a lot better of an idea (still, monitors can be off, but it would be something), but it would only take a second, and it probably takes longer to photoshop those images, anyway.

Me too! I am so super excited to (hopefully) finally get my hands on it - I have been lemming it forever!

I would have guessed the same, but if you do a really shitty job of color matching, photoshop might be a little faster. Seriously though, they must have someone on staff who can take a semi-reasonable shot of a product. Maybe the problem is that they don't actually have the products on hand when they publish these product photos?
