Does anyone in Canada know why we don't have golden olive avail? it frustrating b/c i liked one of the looks posted and I can't even order it.

We should be so lucky! /\I don't think that is what they meant, though. My take on that statement is that the colours are timeless, not that they are permanent in the line.

Re: "The Originals" discussion
i got charged 19.50. i called other belks around here and they are charging 19.50. they will not return or price match my products, since theyve sold out of the glitters already.
i called the freestanding store 5 hours away and they are charging 16.50 only.

Re: "The Originals" discussion
Heeee! I have never bought this much MAC in a single trip (I'm poor, I only ever get one or two things at a time).
Steel Blue Pigment - OMG SO PRETTY
Clue e/s
Rozz Revival and Twig Twig l/s
Avarice l/g - NICE on Queen's Sin. Definitely better than Red Romp.
Aaaand some brush cleanser. Love Originals.

Whoops, sorry, I thought you meant up for display on the site, not availability. Sorry for getting your hopes up!
That is strange Golden Olive isn't listed. It was at the counter so it should be available for ordering.

That's odd. I would email MAC & let them know.

Re: "The Originals" discussion
WOW! MAC has redeemed itself! I placed my order online less than 24 hours ago and UPS delivered it this morning! This makes up for the frustration of waiting almost 2 days for them to release the collection online.
And yes, I'm in luuuvvve with Parrot. Also, Charred es is prettier than I thought it would be and is the deep grey I've been looking for. I thought it would compare to soot; but soot is a slate grey (matte) and charred is a steel grey (frost), so very pretty...

They don't compare to each other on me...I'm NW45. Avarice is a deep red-coral and Red Romp is a deep berry red.
I see on the website Avarice is described as a "Mid-tone yellow red".

Re: "The Originals" discussion
jeez, I was excited to check out the Originals today, went fairly early to the counter and BAM was I disappointed.
Daisychain--too light like a highlight,
Clue--I thought I'd LOVE clue but it swatched on me fairly similar to copperplate so I decided to pass
Ochre Style-- looked like crap, nearly literally, egad.
I ended up liking Alum as another lighter gray option for myself (though I just swatched this against Cumulus from Blue Storm and its close enough that I prob. shouldn't have gotten it but I will keep it anyways)
Parrot--well I decided to take the jump and buy it, so pretty now I just need to figure out a good base and wear it perhaps tomorrow!!
I'm also probably in a sour mood due to my left eye being all wonky-like and a new fold seems to have developed which CREASES LIKE A MOTHER. No base seems to work (tried Paint both in the pot and tube). Do I need an eye lift at 23 already? I kid, I won't but I'm just uber PISSED. Sorry to have ranted a bit.
:S oh well at least that saves me more money for the collections
in the new year!
I hope the originals fairs better for others!

Well, Red Romp is more berry and Avarice is a little more muted. Personally, I find Avarice better than Red Romp, as berry reds seem kind of played out to me. I could take a picture of Queen's Sin/Avarice on my lips if people want. I don't have Red Romp anymore, so I can't swatch the two together, though.

Re: "The Originals" discussion
So I picked up Clue, Ochre Style and Parrot. That's it. I'm not fan of lipglasses usually, so I didn't even look at them and the lustre lipsticks were just not doing it for me. It took a lot for me not to get Charred and Alum, but in the end I just didn't need them as far as color family goes. I might give them a second look a bit later.
FYI, I think Memorabilia looks a lot like Purple Haze, on me I couldn't tell a difference.

Re: "The Originals" discussion
Yay Originals hauls I just picked up the Reflects Antique Gold and Blackened Red, plus a melon pigment and the Nouveau-Frou lipstick. I wasn't really wowed with the eyeshadows for this collection, tbh.

Re: "The Originals" discussion
Picked up Charred (wow did this ever look gorgeous in the pot!) and two Parrots today. I never buy two but I have a friend who would look great in it if I decide I don't want a second.
Also bought Rozz Revival. But this doesn't really look like watermelon on me. It's more orangy on my lips than that. However, I topped it with love nectar and loved it.
The rest of it... the only stuff that drew me was the stuff I already had.

Re: "The Originals" discussion
I'm soo happy the reflects glitters and steel blue were put with this collection. There's no pro stores anywhere near me (unless I go to vancouver which is a province away, or else i'd have to go a couple of states down lol.) So I bought all of them, they're gorgeous And I got parrot too. I wore parrot today and got a lot of compliments

Waternymph. Actually, I think they look really similar, and I know the head hunters will come after me and say that there is the slightest bit more teal or blue or green in one and not the other, but still think they look mighty similar to one another. Not twins, but sisters for sure.

Re: "The Originals" discussion
I actually liked this collection alot more than I thought I would. There were several lipsticks, lipglosses and eyeshadows that I want. I picked up:
Reflects Antique Gold - it's soooooooo beautiful. I could stare into the jar all day.
Parrot - I'm not that impressed. I have seen more beautiful teals. At least I have it.
Real Desire - This is a must have. It's such an amazing deep red. I have been looking for something like this.
I want to go back for:
Daisychain - I think this will make a great brow highlight
Ochre Style - This is such an unusual color. I like it alot. It will be great with Pure Ore and Goldspice.
Reflects Blackened Red - Deep color but's with a subtle glittery effect.

Re: "The Originals" discussion
I went to my counter today and picked up a few of the shadows and one pigment. I like how it's a picture of a granny for the collection instead of a model wearing the products :P
Parrot - It's not what I expected it but it's still a pretty color
Clue - OMG I loveeee this color!!!
Ochre Style - This was a pretty color too and I don't have that many neutral colors
Golden Olive pigment - This one caught my eye more than the Steel Blue! hehe
I might stop by later to pick up the reflects antique gold, rozz revival lipstick, and MAYBE steel blue lol

Re: "The Originals" discussion
I'm sorry but I don't see the big deal about Parrot. It looks so much like Shimmermoss. Hmmmm...

really? i find shimmermoss to be lighter and sheerer on the skin, whereas parrot is more vivid and has, IMO, fabulous colour payoff

Re: "The Originals" discussion
I ended up with Twig-Twig, Supersequin and Full On Lust out of the lip products and Daisychain and Frisco of the e/s. Rozz Revival and Ochre Style looked awful on me. Did anyone try or buy Retrofluid? I'm kinda curious about that one....
