As a teen, I would have described this quad as fugly. It looks like it's mixed with my make up and my mother's. Damn, that's awful. It's trash can ready.

I don't have anything yellow and I swapped away Satin Taupe, otherwise I would try somethng with these colors and see what happens. I am still betting that those colors in the promo pics are way off. Watch, we are all hating on it, and it will turn out to be one of the best quads MAC ever came out with

I love Satin Taupe - but I pair it with brights, like Aquadisiac or Pearl of the Earth (Trend Delights palette.)

I love Satin Taupe. I can wear it anyday of the week. I love it especially with the other colors in the Smoking quad (Smoke Signals, fall '07). I already have two, but I think I want this quad...

The yellow is actually a frost, and is said to be quite bright, and the darkest shade is actually (as someone has mentioned) a pearled navy.

I personally don't care for the quad, but I've always heard people wanting a shimmery or frosty yellow as opposed to Chrome Yellow, so this can be an opportunity for people looking for an alternative to Chrome Yellow... although buying a whole quad for one color seems a bit excessive, but I'm sure other uses can be found for the colors even if they wont' use the colors together.

whew. at least it has ST and a yellow e/s. and a boring black e/s. because otherwise i'd be so miffed that its only available in canada! now i can pass it on in peace :P

When I see the swatches , it seems like the 3 lighter colours almost look like the 3 eyeshadows in the Dress Camp palette

Sure you can make them work, it's just not a great combo. A green in place of Satin Taupe would have been better, imo. The yellow is gorgeous in person.

I've been lemming Chrome Yellow for awhile now but put it off because I know I won't get a ton of usage out of it compared to the other stuff that's come out. This quad helps me out with CY and Awash e/s sounds interesting with the duochrome. Hopefully I can score one in the States so it really is like just spending money on 2 shadows on Canada!

I'm an old woman and I still describe it as fugly; especially after seeing the swatches. It would do nothing for my NW45 skin 'cept wash it out. I made the mistake of buying both of the Raquel Welch's quads and just about throw-up everytime I drag them out and try to wear the colors. LOL. So, I don't need another experience like that!

Well, after seeing the swatches, the colors look pretty nice, but I definately wouldn't use them together... I will have to take a closer look, and may be eating my words and getting it afterall. I like the looks of the yellow and tan shadow

I think that Satin Taupe is a real staple, but I agree with all of you - most of us have it already, and surely, yellow is not flattering on most skintones...not too original on their part, but I still love 'em!

i think i'm gonna get the quad. probably will NEVER wear all the colors together, but i can always depot them and put them into my big palettes.

i wonder if i'll need both meet the fleet and the dark navy color from the quad though

This quad really isn't doing anything for me, partly because it contains colors that I just don't wear. I have a few yellow shadows and pigments, and I almost never wear them--partly because I just don't like yellow, but I have the shadows just to 'round out' my collection. And navy...I just really can't get that color to work with me besides as a liner. The other shades seem nice, though.

Also, I think I generally like singles better because I actually see them more and don't have to drag out the quad for one shade (I have this weird thing where I like to use the quad colors evenly :shrug.

But to be fair, I'm still trying to be open minded about it till I see a few swatches on it from different people before I really make up my mind.

I still have Satin Taupe from the perm line and Going Bananas as a frost yellow from C Shock last year.

They could totally work, they are just outside of a lot of people's norm.
