For another cheap alternative to that blotting paper thing:
-If you don't want to pay a fortune for them, buy a bor of perm papers instead! You'll have tons of them! It really works and it's really cheap!
I work in a hair salon, that's what i always do whenever i get shiny!

What do you mean by mixing Strobe Cream with blushcremes? Like, put strobe cream on and then layer blushcreme over it?

my MAC MA told me to remove glitter by using regular office tape, just lay the sticky side onto the glitter. Otherwise, they're insanely difficult to get off the places they fall onto. Just don't use duct tape!

My MAC MA told me that when I have problems with lipstick bleeding (mostly RED) to take a shadestick (for my skintone he recommeneded Shimmersands) and use it to line the outside of my lips. Then put the lip liner, stickstick and gloss on after and it'll prevent the bleeding.
It works perfectly ... I tried it today!

1) face lotion can be used to wipe off eye makeup!!
2) mac fix+, it works wonders. helps makeup stay on all day and not smudge
3) contouring is a must. makes your wide nose look narrower, your chubby cheeks looking toner. seriously, when i contour it seems like i lost 5 lbs off my face. lol
4) mild soap for cleaning brushes. no need for brush cleaners
5) mac "silver dusk" to give you that healthy glow

*Use MAC Cleansing Oil to clean brushes. Just rub a little bit in then rinse. Your white goat hair and 187 brushes will be looking new in no time.
*Use the 217 to apply Fluidlines to the lid. One of my favorite MAs had Graphic Brown on today and it was gorgeous as a shadow.
*Use a wedge sponge to clean up the outer edge of your shadow. Works great. Just get the angle you want and swipe upwards.
*Use Buttery eye kohl (d/c, but I am sure you can find something similar) on the inner rim to get a wide eye, yet shiny look. Really cool.

Are we talking about Mac lip conditioner or any lip conditioner? Would this work with something like Blistex or Chapstick???

Re: Best tips, advice, recs MAC MAs have given you?
Not from MA's, but here they are..
- For plumpy looking lips, dab a bit of concealer on the skin slightly above your lips
- When applying perfume, dab some oil on your pulsepoints before spraying perfume to make the scent more long lasting
- use baby shampoo to remove light makeup
Will post more as I think of them

Re: Best tips, advice, recs MAC MAs have given you?
For eyeshadow that looks airbrushed, use a large flat brush (I use the 249 or 252) and apply a thin layer of studio finish concealer from lid to crease. If you have oily lids, apply paint to the lid and up into the crease, then do the concealer trick. Next, do your crease first with the color of your choice, and continue with the rest of the eye. You'll be able to blend much easier and the eyeshadow is flawless!

Re: Best tips, advice, recs MAC MAs have given you?
-- Use any highligher above your cupids bow for the plump lip look
-- Instead of contouring, trying just highlighting as it looks more natural. For example, instead of swiping brown powder down the sides of your nose [very noticeable], add a slight line of shimmer down the bridge to make it appear thinner.
-- I use my fridge a lot for keeping creams cold, and storing lipsticks [which has been mentioned] and other products. Buy a mini fridge [they do sell them!!] and keep it in your room or bathroom for quick access
-- Swipe a clean mascara brush in castor oil onto clean lashes at night for conditioning and extra growth. For me, Jan Marini Age Intervention has done WONDERS growth wise, except it is very very very expensive!
-- A small amount of coconut oil on the hair and then washed out makes your hair look so shiny! Just beware of too much
-- Always use a sunscreen or foundation WITH spf in it!
-- Spritz your face with water to finish your makeup

-Change your face make up to match your face color. LOL
I used to have one face powder and think that was "my color", but it turns out I have about 4-5 different colors depending on the season.
-Use blot powder over make up for less shine.

Re: Best tips, advice, recs MAC MAs have given you?
I'm friends with two of them here at the MAC counter and the only good recommendation I've gotten was Amber Lights. I told them I love that bronze-y, wet, sultry look and instead of giving me something like Tempting, which I already own, they gave me amber lights instead. It totally delivers! I'm already super tan thanks to my genes but I swipe this on and I look amazing. I *LOVE* my friends!

Yeah those napkins are amazing! I can find them all over town here since there are a lot of health food restaurants.

Re: Best tips, advice, recs MAC MAs have given you?
here's some tips:
- mix liquid bronzer and firming body cream and massage it into your limbs. it'll temporarily tighten your skin and give you a golden glow.
- if you havent got an eyelash curler on hand, use a sturdy plastic spoon to flip up your lashes.
- to scent your strands, use a small amount of oil-based fragrance on your fingers and run them through your hair. alcohol-based will only dry it out.
- To give your skin a sexy sheen in seconds, fill a spray bottle with a dry body oil and mist it all over right after you shower.
- Before you go to work in the morning, mist your undergarments with your favorite fragrance. The perfume will adhere to the fabric and last until you get undressed. This way, you don't have to lug your fragrance around in your bag.
- If your locks smell like a bar, rub a fabric-softener sheet along the length of your hair, starting at your roots. It makes your hair smell great, if not better.
- To create the illusion of well-rested peepers, use a flesh-toned pencil to line the lower inner rims of your eyes. It offsets the redness in bloodshot eyes.
- If there's no time to shampoo, dip a makeup brush into baby powder (or matte bronzer if your hair is dark) and sweep it over your roots.
- heating your eyelash curler for 10secs with your hairdryer gives your lashes a temporary "perm" and makes the curl last longer.
- keep your eyebrow tweezers in the fridge. as weird as it sounds, it does help numb the pain to some degree.
- to save on cleansers, wash your brushes with baby shampoo instead of brush cleaners. Also, get baby wipes for removing your makeup instead of buying makeup wipes. Just as effective, a lot cheaper and a lot less risk of being allergic to the wipes.

Re: Best tips, advice, recs MAC MAs have given you?
-use a matte neutral-toned e/s above the eye lid/before the brow highlight - aka crease - to blend the two colors seemlessly together and give a more finished look. i know it seems like common sense but a lot of people do not do this and it helps, esp. with bright colors
-use the 219 brush in the crease to deepen color/create definition
-tissue paper is a great alternative to blotter paper/toilet seat covers (and more hygenic than the latter, lol)...i discovered this during holiday season at work with all the wrapping going on
-white shimmer in the inner corner of the eye = well-rested eyes, no matter what else you're wearing with it
-a 190 brush is perfect to soften eye make up at the outer edge (inside of using a q-tip, which can create too sharp an egde)
-layer blush...creates more stay + it's like making your own colors, just as long as it's not too crazy of a difference in color
i wanna hear more from the mac MAs who know all the secrets to keeping making looking flawless all day...anyone?

I tired the trick. Just mix some strobe cream and your favourite cream blush in your palm (your body heat would help the mixing). Then dab the mixed product to the apples of your cheek. Fabulous !!!
Besides, I have tried mixing my own blush (bronzer + pink blush +peach blush + (very important! ! !) setting powder). The colour just melt into your apples and lasts whole day !!! Of course, you have to trial-and-error to get the colour to your taste ! ! !

Re: Best tips, advice, recs MAC MAs have given you?
-Use wipes to achieve a really charp line at the outer V of your eyes, especially if carrying the colour high up towards your brows.
-When applying nail varnish don't paint all the way out at each side, leave a 2mm gap without colour, this will make nails look more slim and 'done'.

Re: Best tips, advice, recs MAC MAs have given you?
When depotting, rather than using the candle method, use the oven. Pop out the top half of the ES so its just the pan in the plastic circle, bake that at 350 degrees for about 3-4 minutes. The plastic and glue melt so easily making the pan pop out! Be careful...it is very hot!
Another adviec I have before I buy a pigment, is asking for a sample. Make sure you are buying something that day because the SA may get mad.

Does baking alter the texture or colour of the ES?
