Mary Kay powder brush for foundation
Mary Kay e/s detail brush
Mary Kay e/s blending brush
Mary Kay blush brush *or* Flirt Feather dust-her (187 wannabe)
Needless to say, I have a Mary Kay brush set, which I really like--they are all sable & wash up really nice.

Too many for my own good. I think like 8-9 different brushes and none for my lips.
Face: I use MAC #242 for concealer, Trish McEvoy (TE) blush brush, MAC #187 if I wear MSF
Eyes: MAC #242 for the paints, TE brush similar to #252 for applying e/s to browbone and lids, TE brush similar to #219 for the creases, #213 for extra color in creases and lids, #217 for the same reasons as the #213 if I want a more blended look, and a cheapo brush similar to #208 for applying color below my lower lashes.
All my Trish McEvoy are the first brushes that I have gotten retail and they work so well.

I use a foundation brush, concealer brush, blush brush, lipstick brush, eyebrow brush, eyeliner brush, and usually 2-3 different brushes for shadow. So usually 8-9

i use my 190 foundation brush for concealer and foundation, if i wear it, then i use my 129 for blush and msf... then i buff it all with a cheap kabuki brush i got at target... for my eyes, if i use fluidline, i use an art brush... and after i apply my e/s usually with a sponge-tipped applicator, i apply the highlight with my 213 and also blend with it as well. so if it's a full face say i use 5 brushes. haha, mainly because i have been too cheap to get anymore brushes. but i'm well on my way!

Let's see..
+Foundation brush 190
+Concealer brush 194
+Powder puff (will be investing in a powder brush soon)
+Blush brush 168 (planning to get a new, fuller brush for this)
+Shadow brush 252 for all over lid color
+Shadow brush 239 for highlighting the brow bone (I also use this for all over lid color when I want a more vibrant base color, so I'm gonna get a 2nd one for this purpose)
+Shadow brush 275 for crease work/outer v
+Bare Escentuals liner brush +Blending brush 224 for...blending. Duh. Haha
My lord, I use more than I thought!

For example – This morning I used:
2 - Smashbox Brush #4 (Concealer brush) to apply under-eye concealer, eye prep+prime and cream color base to lids
1 – Smashbox Brush #3 (blending brush – for applying setting powder over concealer.)
1 – Smashbox Brush #12 (angle brow brush)
2 – MAC Brush 219 (for applying eye shadow and brow-bone colors)
1 – MAC Brush 209 (eyeliner – for applying fluidline)
1 – MAC 217 (blending brush)
1 – MAC 222 (blending brush)
3 – MAC 187 (for applying foundation, blot powder, blush and MSF)
2 - MAC 239 (Eye shading brush)
1 – Sephora Lash/brow brush
I’m wearing concealer, eye P+P, CCB, 6 eyeshadows, 1 eye-brow color, 1 fluidline, studio tech foundation, blot powder, blush, shooting star and dark MSFs.
I’m no good at using my fingers to apply makeup. The only time I use my fingers is to wash my face and apply skincare. I have at least 3 or 4 of each brush listed above and others I have not mentioned. I wash them after each use with baby shampoo/body wash – I’ve noticed no decrease in bristles or see them lose their shape because of the frequent washings. Then I towel dry and re-shape them and they’re dry within a couple of hours – except for the 187s. They’re dry in about 4 hours. Some of the brushes are about 5 years old and others are only a few months old. The 187s are about a month old. I store all my brushes in Sephora vanity brush holders – 4 months ago I originally bought a large and small one for $25 and $22 ea. And a month ago, they reduced them to $5 each. GRRRR. Well I got 4 more ea. of the large and small ones. I had been looking for something “covered” to store my brushes in for over a year and these are perfect!
I also carry a full-set of brushes in my purse for touch-ups and have a full set stored at my desk in the Sephora brush holder. If I didn’t have my brushes, I wouldn’t be able to apply makeup!

Hmmm...interesting thread! It's funny because befor I found Specktra I owned like 1 brush and I would barely ever use it. How I applied m/u back then totally eludes me Now I have about 25-30!
On the average I use:
Loew-Cornell Maxine's Mop brush (lid)
#219 (crease and brow bone)
Essence of Beauty blending brush (blends of course)
EOB brush for powder
#187 (blush)
Taklon paint brush (lips)
That's all really! Not bad...not bad at all!

I use..
187 for liquid foundation/msf/bronzer whatever
182 for powder
109 for blush
and honestly? I usually only use the 239 for my eyes. Its so versatile. I use it to blend, apply, whatever. I love my 239, although sometimes I will use my 224 to blend sometimes, but imo 239 does the job also.
