De Menthe never shows up on me the beautiful colour it looks in the pot, I use bare canvas under it but still no luck, such a shame as it's so pretty...oh and Paradisco comes up very faded on me also and i'm very fair (NW15). I can't explain it...

Maybe I'm the only one, but I HATED Aquadisiac - it either went on too heavy and I looked like a 12 year old or it went on too sheer and you couldn't even see it; There was no in-between.

I HATE Jasmine with a passion. It makes me look jaundiced and sick, and it works with NOTHING. Total waste of money. I also dislike Honey Lust, Beauty Marked, and Bronze (too dark and uneven on me).

I loved steamy when i tried it on my hand in the store, but the colour wont show up on my eye lids. Ive tries s/s and paints.

Trax looks really bad on me, i think im too pale for it.

With jewel blue i need four coats of it and it still barely shows up on me.

Swimming- Just looks like a very sheer green with tons of glitter on me.

Jewel Blue is the worst for me. It comes out so dark and heavy looking no matter how lightly I try to apply it. I'm a NW20.

I suppose I could make stuff like Honey Lust "work" by using this base or that base or doing this technique or that, but frankly I don't have the time or patience, so it just sucks in my book :|

I LOVE trax! I never had problems with that e/s but I cannot get Sweeten Up! to ever work for me. I've tried pink couture s/s, cotton candy paint, and bare canvas paint but it just doesn't show up. I don't want to give it up since its a le but doode....

For me, toehr problematic eyeshadows have been:
Steamy ( I cant get this color to show up!)
Plumage(again, this color just applies unevenly on me)
Juxt (I cant get it to show up either)

I do think that part of the problem is the base that I use-I use Bare Canvas paint and I think it rather fades out colors, which is why im going to be looking into the Shadesticks in the future....
Ooooh… Plumage is so pretty, one of my favorite winter colors, especially when paired with Whim. Also, I use the sponge tip applicator for Plumage because it gives a better concentration of color and it makes the blending so much easier. Hope that helps!
THX!!!!!!! I will try that!

Honesty (another lustre) is a pretty color but it just goes everywhere, even when I use a base. And in the quad it tries to contaminate the other shadows---annoying.

I had to return almost every shadow I bought from MAC except like five of them.

They were ridiculously sheer, and the ones that seemed to go on pigmented disappeared in a half hour or so. I used every single base under them, and did everything I do that makes all other shadows last all day for me, and nothing worked. It was horrible.

I have used pigments for years and have never had any problems with them at all. They stay all day.

I have used tons of different shadows from other companies, and have very few as horrid as the MAC ones were that I returned- I returned a LOT of them.

The few that I have kept are decent, still need several coats to stay put, but they are excellent.

Parrot
Aquadisiac
Expensive Pink
Freshwater
Beautiful Iris

I love the Leisuretime and Lucky Green, but they do the same thing- disappear in a very short time.

I have had quite a few people tell me that the same thing has happened to them.

I usually use MAC shadows on people who do not really want intense makeup and who do not care if it disappears, and pigments on those who want intensity to stay.

For whatever it is worth................

This is my exact experience with Nars shadows. I'm relatively new to MAC, though I do have about 20 shadows so far, and have good luck with them. All you wrote about your MAC experience I could quote verbatim as my Nars eyeshadow experience.

Perhaps I got a bad one, but Seedy Pearl in my Tease Me quad applies so unevenly. Chunks of it seem to end up in fine lines round my eyes making me look very bruised. I hate it.

i am 100% totally against paints, i never use Bare Canvas anymore but I wish Stilife came in a shadestick cause i LOVE using those instead. I find that the Lustre ones with the big chunks of glitter are the WORST to stay put but i love them like aquadisiac, gleam, honesty. i LOVE beauty marked and i HATE sushi flower and paradisco, it does NOTHING for me

The only shadow that I hate is scene. It doesn't seem to go with any of the colors I have and it makes my skin look bruised.
