for me, its not about the eyeshadow color, its about the texture. veluxe pearls = perfection. lustres (old formula) ie: honey lust, honesty: do not work! and then parafait amour and electric eel both give me the someone-punched-me look. oh.. and paradisco doesnt show up but it's a shame... such a prettttty color!

Paints dont do anything for me either... the dont make my e/s stay longer or make em brighter...
Prep + Prime does wonders for me though...
Paradisco also doesnt show up on me... lots of colors dont show up on me...

For me, toehr problematic eyeshadows have been:
Steamy ( I cant get this color to show up!)
Plumage(again, this color just applies unevenly on me)
Juxt (I cant get it to show up either)
I do think that part of the problem is the base that I use-I use Bare Canvas paint and I think it rather fades out colors, which is why im going to be looking into the Shadesticks in the future....
Milani's Garden Mist eyeshadow looks like Juxt (IMO) and it shows up very nicely if you use a base.

try beige-ing shadestick!!!
I allways use that shadestick on my lid, crease and just a bit above the crease, and fill my browbone in with stillife paint, to avoid a cakey look! try it, you'll love it!

I love it, I cannot live without it!! but then again I allways act like a 12yr old, haha people expect me to look like one

Paradisco won't show up on me, I find it very difficult to get the frost in parfait amour to really shine too. As for creme de violet...I really dislike it!
But then again I adore paints and cannot for the life of me get used to shadesticks, so I think I must be unusual

I find Mulch and Blue Brown pigment make your lids look bruised and ugly and i'm an NC43 so i thought they'd be ok on me.

Trax looks amazing as crease color with seedy pearl. I think this combo will look good on anyone, and help blend the darker color into the lighter without problem

I thought the same when i originally used the colour, but now i use a base, then white frost pigment which is a little chunky and then i just touch jewel blue with my middle finger and then apply it with my finger lightly on part of my lid slightly blended with the white frost... i have had sooo many compliments on it. I have NW40 skin and it shows up fine on me.

Femme Noir is actually one of my favorite liner shades. I love it in the crease with greensmoke on the lid too.
As for colors that don't work for me:
Blackberry: so pretty in the pan but for some reason I have a hard time even picking it up on my brush, and I've tried several different types.
Angelcake: love it in the pan but it's very dusty and doesn't show up well on me
Beautymarked: I'm actually wearing this today and do make use of it, but I can't get the red shimmer to show up much at all. Even wet, it's maybe one or two red shimmer particles that appear and that's it.
Metamorph: makes me look sickly. I haven't gotten rid of it yet because I keep hoping to kind a combo it'll work with
And lustres like Gleam, Honey Lust, & Idol Eyes: too much glitter and not enough color pay off even with a CCB or a shadestick base.

I hate d'bohemia, parfait amour (won't show on me). Jewel blue is also horrid, looks great on pan, but shows up greyish on me.

I hate Vex with a passion. It was one of my first shadows and though I can wear almost any color-- Vex just looks godawful on me. Nasty grayish corpse-like green. It's my own fault for buying it off the internet without seeing it in person first, though.
I also hate Creme de Violet-- it's such an awful tacky pinkish purple. I don't know what it is about that color but I've worn it exactly once and will probably never wear it again. I can't find anything to pair it with-- I don't like how pink and purple look together, and when you wear Creme de Violet with purples it looks pink and gross and when you wear it with pinks it looks purple and gross. And it's too bright to pair with contrasting colors (unless you want to look like a clown.)
I was also very disapointed with Tempting. In the pot and on my hand it's a great sparkly chocolate brown. On my eyes however, the sparkles fly everywhere and the color looks really muddy-- it doesn't matter what i wear it with-- other browns, golds, colors-- as a crease color it just makes them look muddy and gross, and i's too dark to use anywhere else.
Paradisco-- I LOVE LOVE LOVE the color-- but it doesn't show up! At all!
Swimming-- I finally bought this recently because I kept hearing people list it as their favorite green. But it's so.... blah. I expected the color to show up much more intensely. It's green... but a very muted silvery green. I never wear it-- I like bolder brighter greens.
