What are mineralize skin finishes?
I tried searching for info about MSFs, but maybe I just wasn't hitting the right word combo.
sorry for being uneducated about this MAC product but what exactly are the MSFs? I see in FOTDs that they're used on the cheeks and such, but thats all I know. I couldn't seem to find them on the MAC website either. d/c'ed?
thank you for sharing your knowledge

MSF = mineralize skinfinish
They're dome shaped powders used as cheek colours, highlighters etc. They give quite a "glowy" look.
Search for mineralize on eBay and you'll find some.
They're have been several collections which have included MSFs now, but because they are baked rather than pressed, they're difficult and slow to produce and are always LE. They're very popular so always sell out quickly.

I think 6 new ones are coming out this summer. You may still be able to get Petticoat or Naked You at a counter or mac store. Oh and a lot of people are selling them here too.

pleasureflush is damn near impossible to find. good luck. they go gor $125+ on ebay.
so ceylon and shimpange pop up from time to time on this board, and the LJ mac sales boards. still, they almost always are $40+ for the older ones. the newer ones (naked you and petticoat) seem to go for about $36-40. and thisis all in US dollars.

Oh God. I hope there aren't six. I hope they do three new and three re-promotes like they did with Goldplay. I can't afford to buy 6 new ones and then backups on top of that. LOL

What is Mineralize skin finishes?
Hi all,
I've discovered MAC in July O5. In this forum, I see that few people have Mineralize skin finishes in their makeup collection.
This product is discontinued in France. I can't find it.
But I would like to know what is it and what is the effect on the skin (I see there is differents colors).
So, If you have it, why did you use it? Is it good?
Thanx you very much!!!

Mineralize Skinfinishes were released a couple of times with some color stories (Rococo, High Tea, Goldplay, Lingerie)!
They are a kind of baked powder that creat a certain way of glow to your face!
They work great as a highlighter, as a glowy blush or a bronzer!
I have two of them (Petticoat and Stereo Rose) and they are awesome!!!
You can even use them as an e/s!

When chooseing your shade, it is all a matter of preference or are there certain shades that look better on lighter skin tones? I am pretty fair, and am not sure which ones I should be hunting after...

It's a little of both. If you are looking for something more natural, go for shimpagne or pleasureflush. Glittery neutral go for naked you. Petticoat and stereo rose work as darker blushes, and the remaining ones work well as bronzers for light skin tones.
