Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
I recently purchased Goldspill from a seller here on specktra and I love it. The first time I used it the fallout was everywhere. So, I decided to do the same thing I do with my mineral eye shadows, I gather the product on my brush then spray it with Fix+ let it sit for a minute and then buff it on. I use it as a highlighting color on my cheeks, then blend my blush into it to finish the look. I love these products and can't wait for the new addition in a few weeks!!

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
I have the Metal rock msf, which in its package looks really glittery but is very pretty on the skin. Its a copper color with gold glitters. i use it as a bronzer. I think it my work well on medium and darker complexions. But i do want to get the msf duo...

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
I only have Warmed MSF right now and I absolutely looove it! Sucha nice subtle brown that I could use everyday. I just purchased Shooting Star MSF so I'm excited for that to come around.
Do you guys have any other recommendations? I use NC30 and don't want anything too bold.

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
xjenn--I'm probably not the best person to be making recommendations on MSFs since I just started using them, but I'm an NC35 and so far So Ceylon is good as a subtle bronzer. I use either the 187 or the 181 (I think that's what it is...the smaller kabuki?) and the 187 is probably the one to use if you are going for something less bold. Petticoat is also nice for a pink flush (it's really pretty over Gentle mineralized blush). I also just got Gold Deposit, but that seems to be more on the bold side, IMO.

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
There are three types of Mineralize. There is the skinfinish which is used to highlight or add a sheen to ones face. There is the duo which has a matte side and a shiny side... that's a good one to have if you are just trying one out. And then my fav is the Skinfinish natural. It's matte and is perfect for setting any foundation or even to obtain sheer coverage over moisturizer. I love that stuff. Hope that helps!

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
I love the Mineralize Skinfinishes! I have So Ceylon and Gold Deposit and love them both! I use So Ceylon to highlight my cheek bones and I use Gold Deposite on my chin, the bridge of my nose and forehead. I have Petticoat coming in the mail soon and can't wait to try it.

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
I have petticoat, so ceylon and the MSF natural. I adore petticoat - it is just sooooo uber pretty on. I am really wanting to get lightscapade or one of the highlighters at some point, but still a mac newbie so missed out on them first time around...

I have never gotten so many compliments in my life before I got Petticoat... yay for Petticoat! I used it on my roommate for a tango/ballroom dance festival thing she was going to and she looked AMAZING. *_*

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
I just got Light Flush MSF on Ebay and I'm a little disappointed, it looks really similar to Petticoat. IMO if you have Petticoat you don't need Light Flush. Maybe this will help someone.

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
I just recently got into the MSF's and am trying to put together a nice collection, while avoiding similar shades. I am NC 35-40.
So far I have:
Warmed
Petticoat
Global Glow
What are some must have MSF's you would recommend to add to my collection?
Thanks!

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
I recently discovered MSFs and instantly fell in love (note: to be expected - lol). Anyway, I quickly went to work on snagging discontinued MSFs in: Shimpagne, Pleasureflush, Shooting Star, and Porcelain Pink. Additionally, in my LE crazed madness, got Petticoat and Soft & Gentle (plus multiple backups - duh ). I know Petticoat is still available and that Soft & Gentle is a permanent item at MAC Pro stores (or at least, I think it is?) but I am a MAC chipmunk ... what I love, I must hoard .
Anyway, NOW that I have them, I need to make sure I am using them properly (as highlighters and light blushes) and am maximizing their use .
I'm of very pale complexion and I do not use any foundation/concealer/makeup on my face and my question is; can I still maximize my MSFs when using them on bare skin? Or do I need a primer of some sort? I prefer the former and am hoping there's no difference .
Pardon the long winded post ... and thank you in advance for any input .

Petticoat has been a pretty over-the-blush highlighter glow for every skintone I've put it on.

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
I agree! My sister is an NC35 and I'm an NC15 and we both can wear almost any MSF. I have used both Petticoat, and Soft and Gentle, on her and myself and as long as I apply with a 182 and buff it into the skin it looks good!

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
I just got Northern Lights in the mail a few days ago... I was expecting so much after adoring my Petticoat MSF... and I have been LET DOWN... big time y'all. Petticoat is amazing and for the most part, it stays on my face all day long, even without a base. Northern Lights, how would I put this... the surface loses its integrity when you swirl a brush across across it, so expect a lot of powder fall out on the surface of the MSF itself; it just seems like such a waste of product. It has a pretty deep pink with gold shimmer when you apply it but when you start blending it, it falls out and suddenly have sparkles everywhere you don't want them: your upper lip, lower half of your face... and it disappears after a few hours even over my CCB. Major let down. I'll work with it some more but I'm not expecting much success.
Petticoat spoiled me. Opposite end of the spectrum - it is PERFECT. I always use whatever blush I happen to be that day, whether it's a matte, a Mineralize blush, or a shimmer, sheertone, whatnot, and then sweep Petticoat high on my apples, my cheekbones, temples, and my nose. It works great to balance the shadow of contouring because it reflect light
I want to try So Ceylon. Hopefully it can work as a subtle bronzer on my pale skin.

I agree about Petticoat MSF, it is perfect. Such a beautiful blend of pink and glow
