A lot of people really like the blonde BBR MSF too. I personally LOVE it! I have had at least 3 or 4 MA's tell me they are wearing the Blonde MSF when I go in to MAC too.

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
I think petticoat looks really good on a lot of people... it's sooooo pretty! I put it on top of my blush... i have that and soft and gentle--- which is better as a highlighter... the pans compacts last forever...

You would probably like Blonde (The degrade gives you different color options). Also, it's just gorgeous, IMO.

If you want warm then Redhead, So Ceylon (if you can stil find them) or Gold Deposit and if you want cool then Blonde. I don't have Soft and Gentle but I think it can be an easy started colour also like delic said

YEp.. for an NC15 who likes a minimal look or does not wear foundation, the Blonde MSF is probably the most natural looking one.. on top of foundation it is stunning

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
I'm loving the Blonde MSF right now. I'll use the darker side for blush and the lighter side for highlight. Definitely gives a healthy glow to my skin.

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
I'm so glad I found this thread... I finally took the plunge and ordered the Blonde MSF, just because I felt like I'd be pissed at myself later if I didn't get it... (I also just bought Moon River and a MSF Natural for a bronzer and LOVE the baked powder as opposed to the pressed!) But I wasn't totally sure how to use it!
So it's kind of like a blush/highlighter all in one? I guess I was kind of hoping that I could just swirl the colors inthe degrade together to make a nice allover face color (cheekbones/forehead/nose/chin), but knowing that I should stick to the lighter colors for that and the darker couple for a blush is good too.

You can swirl all the colors together or use them separately - that's what makes the striped MSFs so great Although some people like to use the darker and lighter parts for different areas, I personally just dab my brush through all 4 stripes to mix the colors

Is there such thing as a " bad" MSF? Like one that has super disproportionate coloring or anything like that? Not necessarily a bad product overall, but like.. one that just came out weird? Idk if I'm making any sense. :P

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
How Odd....
I just so happened to be in my Mac store yesterday and they have a pot of all random bits & bobs from past collections. After wading through loads of hello kitty glitter eyeliners and other bits and bobs, I found a Perfect Topping MSF. I was so happy ive been lusting over this for so long. I thought they had all been snapped up to be sold for over-inflated prices on eBay. Tssk
I grabbed it and was outta there before you could say "Eeeeeeeeeee"

You should check the sale & swamp section. I think I saw someone selling petticoat on there and I am sure someone might eventually sell their perfect topping MSF. Just keep you eyes on that section Good Luck !!!

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
MSF's are different. Some are glittery, some are more matte. I have soft and gentle and I really like it. I would like to get refined, but it looks so similiar and I don't think perfect topping would show up at all.
Can't wait for the summer collection to be released.

Try the CCO. I just bought Petticoat there about a month ago.

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
So from all I can gather MSF's are like a highlighting powder correct?? Used like blush or highlighter to give a glow??
So what about the MSF natural? Are they more like just a matte finishing powder? Is there any shimmer at all? And what are they like as a finishing powder? Are they cakey, or just light dusting powders like the other MSF's?

MSFs can be used for highlighting, blush or bronzer -- it all depends on what shade you get.
the MSF naturals come in several different shades and are meant to match your skin tone. They can be used to set foundation or on its own to provide light coverage. It never looks caky on my skin and it does have very subtle shimmer. You have to really inspect the powder up-close to see the shimmer. MAC calls it "low-level pearlized pigments"
MSF Natural is an ultra-fine baked mineral powder designed to provide sheer, natural coverage. The low-level pearlized pigments result in a subtle glow for a refined complexion. Use this product dry.

The Natural sounds nice as a face powder!! I love light deflecting powders when they aren't so shimmery that they make you look like a big greaseball.
Wonderful - another couple of products to add to my want list, lol!
Thanks!

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
Natural MSF are nice for the summer when you want to just dust your face and not put on anything too heavy. That is how I 1st started using them.
I love the BBR and many other LE ones because they can be used as highlighter and blush for cheeks, all over face or as a bronzer depending on you complexion and what you like. I use So Ceylon as a bronzer but lightly because it is a bit glitterty.
I still want Soft and Gentle because it is looks more natutral on me and less glitterty. The striped MSF like BBR can be used seperately or blended as blush, highlighter or eyeshadow as most people have stated. I think these are a good multi-use product that I plan to get more of.
I advise most people to get them while you can, because ebay is high and sometimes the CCO does not have it or they have very few....

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
I just got Refined, I'm still a little unsure about how to use this product.
I sure love the colours though, what a gorgeous pan.
Looks nice on the cheek, I've used it lighly as a highlighter at the top of cheeckbones so far over blush and a quick stripe down the nose.
