Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
I think that the best starter MSF is Soft and Gentle (Perm). It has a really nice texture and makes for a great highlight color. It was the first MSF I ever bought and I am so glad that I have it! I use it literally every single day.

You can still buy Petticoat in CCO's. I got mine there about a month ago.

lucky, lucky you! Do you love it? I've heard great things, but I refuse to pay inflated resale prices when I have a pro card and *could* have gotten it cheap!

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
Can anyone advise on what MSF to buy for my colouring NC42 and are the shimmery or Matt as I would prefer a matt look?
Thanks

I'm an NC42 myself. I used to collect MSFs and had almost all of the MSFs every released but since sold the ones I don't use. I prefer my MSFs with a bronze or pink color to them. I don't care for the light ones that are used for highlighting. I have other blush highlighters that do the trick instead of MSFs. The ones I use are:
Petticoat, Light Flush, Brunette, Blonde, Redhead, Warmed, Gold Deposit, So Ceylon. I also just bought Cheeky Bronze, Smooth Merge.
All of the MSFs released so far either have a shimmer, frost, or glitter to them. The only matte MSF is Sunny By Nature that was just released, or any of the Natural MSFs like Medium, Dark, etc.
The thing that makes MSFs unique is they look so different on everyone else. So your best bet is to look at the swatches to decide which ones you want and go from there. Or if you can swatch them in person, it would be better.
My FAVORITE MSF would have to be btw Petticoat and So Ceylon!

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
Wow! I was wondering about the whole MSF-craze, and I think I can see their merits after this thread! I'm seriously considering the Triple Fusion for my first MSF. How shimmery is that one?
Oh, and I'm an NC25: which MSFN should I buy? TIA y'all!

Triple fusion is very shimmery, but its a good shimmer. Its not chunky shimmer like gold deposit. Its beautiful!
I would go with medium MSFN for your colouring. My tans fading so I'm about an NC25 right now and I use medium.
HTHs!

That helps a lot! I was thinking that I may have been L-M, so it's good to hear that I would've been wrong. It's going on my to-buy list now.

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
I love Perfect topping, it have little shimmer not like aluminum foil and when I swipe it on my finger it have kinda milky shade along with few fine milled shimmer, it's a great touch of glow. Just love it.

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
So you guys have said that all MSFs are limited edition - are all of the MSFN permanent, though? Because I absolutely love using my MSFN for everyday face powder!

Mineralize Skinfinish Natural is permanent
The Mineralize Skinfinishes are all limited edition, except for Soft and Gentle and I think Gold Deposit as well..

Thanks very much! Good to know, since the Natural is going to be my everyday face powder now
I kind of want to try out Soft and Gentle but Gold Deposit seems a bit too colorful for me. Next time I go to a store I'll ask about it.

I love my MSFN as well! one of MAC's standout products
Soft and Gentle is a really nice highlight color.. if your store still has the Colour Craft MSFs, I suggest taking a look at those as well!

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
I've got the chance to get my hands on the MSF Northern Light.
I've only seen swatches so far in which it looks pretty dark- I'm an NC 25.
Does anyone know if it goes well with light skin?

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
Which brush do you guys use to apply the MSF?
I would have thought a domed brush would be best but the SA used the 187 on me so I was a bit confused.

Re: Mineralize Skin Finish - basic facts
^ Yes, the stuff from there is authentic. A lot of people have ordered from there before and I think the owner is a member on this site but I'm not sure about that. I am sure that her stuff is legit though
