Contouring can make your nose look smaller. Your nose looks perfectly fine to me, if that is you in your avatar, but contouring is a lot of fun to play around with either way.
Sometimes I give up on concealer. I get the occasional cystic pimple and no amount of concealer really hides them. They heal faster if I don't cover them up, too, and when the skin around them becomes dried out and flakey from spot treatments make-up just draws attention to it. At that point I honestly think not even trying to cover them up looks better.
I have a very dark and sort of sunken undereye area, and the usual advice to choose an undereye concealer one shade lighter than your foundation doesn't work at all for me; they just take on a grey tinge from the darker colour underneath unless I really cake it on, and I don't like that reverse raccoon effect very light undereye concealer gives. Choosing a colour-correcting undereye concealer works much better for me - I go for peachy ones, they cut the blue/green undertones of my dark circles, and sometimes add something that reflecs light on top instead of going lighter.
I like Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage, and at the moment I'm very pleased with both Prescriptives Camouflage Kit and my Genheden Studio Foundation, which is pigmented enough to double as concealer. Bare Canvas is a fantastic primer for creamy undereye concealers, it keeps the concealer in place and looking fresh much longer.

Re: Tips In Hiding Imperfections
Why would you want to hide it? I actually like to leave most of what many think are "imperfections"...instead I emphasize eyes, lips, great skin etc. You can shadow and light for pics, but this doesn't work in person.

Re: Tips In Hiding Imperfections
I have EXTREMELY dark under-eye circles, and I've found that a tiny dab of matte orange lipstick spread underneath concealer can REALLY help balance out the colors. It won't necessarily make your circles disappear completely, but it really helps!
The main problem is finding a matte orange. The only one I've found that has absolutely no shimmer in it is MAC's M'orange.

Re: Tips In Hiding Imperfections
I thought this post was really helpful, but as an extra step i always use a highlighting concealing pen *over* the other concealing steps (L'Oreal Touch Magique is amazing imo) which really helps deflect from any concealer-y look or blemishes/circ;es still showing through the concealer ~
iv always wondered about those color correctors to wear below the concealer (like BBs) and LMs Secret Brtightening Powder too for the undereyes.. would love to try those too, if theyr alny good! xxx

Re: Tips In Hiding Imperfections
I just thought I should point out that I recently tried using matte orange EYESHADOW rather than lipstick for my undereye circles, and it worked just as well! I used MAC's Rule, and it really helped balance out my undereye circles.

Have you ever tried a pink toned concealer -- BB has one in Porcelain if your skin is light enough, and my favourite is MAC Secret Cover in Pink.. I have hoarded this as it is my answered prayers for my pale skin when I get nasty no sleep nights

Re: Tips In Hiding Imperfections
I've tried quite a few concealers for under eye circles and my biggest problem is finding one that doesn't settle into fine lines or cake after a setting powder is applied. Here's what I've found works best for me...
First of all, application is key... Concealer brushes just don't work well for the under eye area. A fluffy eye blending brush like the 224, or similar in shape to it, works wonderfully - the tip applies the concealer and the surrounding bristles blend the concealer. If you find you still need to further blend the concealer, lightly tapping the area with your finger will warm the concealer and blend it into the skin.
My top concealer pick for the under eye area is Benefit Erase Paste. Most concealers are yellow or orange-tinted, but Erase Paste is a salmon shade regardless of whether you buy the light, medium, or dark. This works wonders for cancelling out dark circles. With this product, a little goes a long way, and it doesn't settle into fine lines. I've found with yellow and orange concealers the circles are usually still visible through the cover.
MUFE HD Foundation also seems to work quite well as a concealer - I apply it the same way - with a fluffy blending brush, and if I find it necessary, I'll apply a second layer after the inital one sets.
MUFE Full Cover Concealer is an amazing, flawless coverage, but I think can be a little heavy for everyday use.
As for a powder to set the product with, I prefer to use a mineral foundation because it's not as drying and it doesn't cake the concealer. My personal favorite is Urban Decay Surreal Skin Mineral Foundation. I apply minimally with a kabuki or a buffer brush in a patting motion.

Sorry, I know it took me forever to reply to this!
I make sure my undereyes are very clean and dry, then I use a matte dark orange. Don't use anything neon, cause it'll be too much; you want something a little brown to cut the dark blue color.
I basically dip the tip of my clean pointer finger in to MAC's Rule, rub my two points together, and apply the shadow gently, starting at the inner corners of my eye. Then I carefully layer MAC's studio finish concealer over top. (I actually don't own much MAC makeup, thanks to the cost, but those two products are musts for me!)

Re: Tips In Hiding Imperfections
Great thread! I personally really like Laura Mercier's concealer pot with the loose setting powder and secret camouflage and creamier concealer in the top. Her concealer brush and camouflage powder brushes are also as good as anything else I have found on the market, though ITA that concealer brushes are usually disappointing. My MAC concealer brush is the only MAC brush that I do not absolutely love...and I am thinking about trying Bobbi Brown's corrector/concealer/powder combo now that I am hitting pan on the LM stuff.

I always use orange shadow or lipstick to hide blueness, like my dark undereye circles, but I think it depends on how much of a black eye we're talking about.
