HEY! Fellow Torontonian
I don't have anything to really add besides that, lol. I really only shop at Jacob, Jacob Connexion (if you like that store they're having an awesome sale- it's over Saturday, the then new collection comes out ), and H&M. I haven't really paid attention to what's out everywhere, but I do think I saw some stripes at H&M. When everyone starts wearing things like this, I stop and ask my b/f to stop too.

I sort of like the nautical look, but in the non-traditional colors. (I don't look very good in navy...)
I'm thinking about getting one of these, but pairing it under a hoodie or low-cut top so it peeks out a bit, since I can do without the widening factor of stripes...

As for the wide-striped tops like polos, I like the look on other people, but I've never been able to pull it off right. Everything's good in moderation too, but no one should have a wardrobe full of striped tops. That would be scary...

^I like the second pic. The stripes are very light, I dont own anything with stripes...well except this one tube top that had stipes on it and I never wore it. Stripes just isnt my thing. It looks good on other people but I dont think it really suits me.

i should probably add this: i know what you mean about trends spreading and everything, though; and i know it can be annoying. stripes are pretty general to consider a trend though, imo.

Jacob Connexion is a very cute store. They have nice zip-up hoodies. Anyways, I don't really mind stripes, although I do agree they're over-done nowadays.

Stripes don't flatter me, I have a small stomach and a big big chest. So the stripes just make them look even bigger.

I LOVE stripes but I've been mad on 'em for nearly two years now so it's nothing to do with 'the trend'!

I love stripes but I agree the trend has taken over every store!! I have a striped top, and some striped tights, and a striped hoodie :P So I guess I'm a stripe victim.

they're okay, in moderation. i personally look like hell in stripes unless they're on a girl's polo-type shirt. i can't pull off stripped tanks though

ahah i know what yourrr sayingg=) lol yeah they are too general to consider a trend, but at that time, they were everywhere. and it was all so sudden:O stripes weren't so in before that. oh well, the 'not-so-trend' trend has kind of died out now so yay=)

The stripes are okay, I guess. Just not on me. I been wearing all black for so long that it's hard to imagine wearing anything else. *shudders*

stripes don't bother me, but it's the fact that most of them are HORIZONTAL stripes! oh the horror
