Maybelline: Dream Matte Mousse (foundation)

Would you buy this product again? heck no
This stuff is just abolutely horrible. Once again, there is no color for a PPP. The lightest one is about 2-3 shades too dark on me, but somehow it still ends up looking chalky? This is not a foundation.. this is pure whipped silicone. And silicone just happens to give me the worst reactions ever, especially in such high concentrations like this. It's the 2nd ingredient on the package! And who wants to dig their fingers into their foundation every day?? Can we spell bacteria breeding. Gross.

This product is horrible. It is way to dry and the shades seem darker then you think when you buy it! It goes on dry and chalky and feels horrible on your face, and looks even worse!

I'm an NC25 and I use the Light #2. I admit it was hard to find my shade and the first time I bought the wrong shade. I find this very easy to blend and looks natural on me. Works wonders on my under eye circles. I'm on my 3rd jar. I always use a sponge or foundation brush with this product.
*UPDATE* I've stopped using this because I started to notice a color difference between this on my face and my neck where the foundation stops. I've now switched to MAC Studio Fix powder NC25, and MAC Studio Stick conncealer NC20

this stuff i love or hate. i love it. it is my favorite foundation(i have tried high end and drugstore). it gives you an airbrush finish. it's pretty much only for girls with "normal" skin because if your skin is flaking, it will accentuate that and if it is oily, this stuff wil not last on you. i've read about it breaking some people out, but not me my face looks flawless when i wear this.

I HATED this stuff, the shades they have are all dark, therefore i looked orange. Also when applying this foundation i had to apply TONNES of moisturiser beforehand because the foundation made my skin appear flakey and dry. The only thing i did like about this foundation was the feel of it.

The colors seem dark, and it is hard to find th e right color. It goes on very smooth and makes my face look airbrushed.

.The colour is too dark. If i went a colour BELOW it would be to light.
It felt great..doesnt last long at all.
my skin is oily/flakey (gross eh?) and it was HORRIBLE on me ..so i would reccommend(sp?) it only to those with NORMAL skin!

I have normal skin but I still like to prep my skin with tons of moisturizer to make my foundation go on more smoothly. I guess I'm lucky that the light (2) is my EXACT coloring. I like the coverage!! I use a wedge sponge as well, I would never dream of trying to use this foundation with my fingers. It does give an almost airbrushed appearance on my skin. I like that I don't have to use a powder to set or to battle shine. I also always find coupons for this in my sunday newspaper which is a PLUS. This is my fave drugstore foundation.

Finally a foundation in an EXACT colour match for my skin! I use fawn, one of the lighter shades. I bought this when it first came out because it was on offer and i'm not one to pass up the chance to save a little bit of cash. Plus i was on my lunch break and when you've been asked about a million times for the same book, you can get a little frazzled and in need of a treat. The texture is super weird, kind of chalky when you first use it and you need a lot to actually give any coverage, but it keeps my super oily skin matte and seems to just fade in seamlessly. I use a little spatula to get it out of the jar and then use my fingers to blend as this enabels me to work with it better.

would i buy this again? not really
this was actually the 1st foundation i have ever owned. I never wear makeup on a daily basis and i bought this for my friends wedding. i have combination skin and although it isnt dry as such, i found that this foundation made yr dry skin appear more visible. Its looks lovely in the pot but u need really really smooth skin to pull this one off. Also it does look chalky.

I bought this a long time ago and I ended up giving it to my mom. This mousse is not for people with dry skin like myself.. it caked up and looked so horrible on my skip.. I looked flakey even with moisturizer. I would never buy this product again.. though the blush is not bad at all.

Would you buy this product again? possibly
I have combo skin, so this did not flake at all. In fact I really liked how it looked on my skin. It made it look flawless & smooth. I also like the consistency of the product; Its nice & creamy. My only gripe is the shade I bought is just a tad too dark for me, so I have to mix it with lots of moisturizer to lighten it up. If you are going to buy this I say DO NOT go by the shade chart because it was lighter than the actual shade, which is why I bought the wrong one. Of course at the drug store, they hardly ever match.

I liked using this, it went on my skin well with a wedge sponge & gave me decent coverage. The only problem was that the lightest shade was too dark for my skin and made me look orange. I prefer to use liquid foundations though & I doubt I'll be buying it again

The Porcelain color was perfect on my skin, coverage was pretty good, and as someone else has said, it was great for my under eye circles (and a decent eyeshadow base as well) What really bothered me was that it seemed like dirt/debris would get into the jar because every time I opened it it started looking a little dingier. Kinda gross... I would have liked it better if you could have squeezed it out of a tube for cleanliness sake. I think I'll just stick with my BE for the most part though.

The only reason why i bought this product was because i badly burnt my arms and i needed something smooth and that had a lot of colour. and it did work. and it stayed on for the whole day which i was kind of suprised. yes, i did put it on my arms and yes it is wierd lol but i had to go to work and i didnt want burnt arms so yea! pretty good coverage, as for shade, i didnt do so well, but hey, it made me look kinda tanned on my arms!haha

Would you buy this product again? NO WAY.
Okay the first time I wore i wore this i actually liked it, I easily found a colour that suited and it was easy to wear. HOWEVER... Once on my8 face it felt disgusting, Not smooth but icky and slimy. It was easy to blend but if you have dry skin then it will not compliment you're skin any futher.
I really envy those who can wear it but after a day of wearing it i had about 4 spots... I do get a few but not that many, it seems suprising i had them AFTER wearing this stuff...

Sorry i didn't realise my first post had submitted as there was something wrong with the page after i posted...
Just to edit/clarify.
At first i hated this stuff but it HAS grown on me, the colour is perfect and it stays put all day.Its not the cause of the spots either, I think that was just general ickyness as i had flu!

Would you buy this product again? i have before
it does look airbrushed on when you find the right color. i go with the second lightest shade but i'm not very pale at all. i'm asian with the slight yellow undertone. i would say the only downside i have is that i have oily skin and this does not quite last throughout the day. and you prolly shouldn't wear it if you have oily skin becuz it can clog pores if you don't wash well enough. currently, i am off this product becuz i like TMs better.

General Comments on this product:
It seems I've tried every foundation under the sun, and none has come as close to perfection as Dream Matte Mousse in Porcelain Ivory. It gives me an airbrushed look, and is very easy to apply & blend. It stays put all day, and gives me the full coverage I'm looking for. I would not recommend this if you have oily or extremely dry skin. If your skin is oily, this will probably slide right off... and if you have extremely dry skin that flakes, this will accentuate the dry areas. My skin is between normal to dry, so this still works well for me. I'm on my 3rd jar of this. IMO, it's a low end product that delivers high end results. Almost everything else I use is MAC, but Dream Matte Mousse will always have a place in my makeup routine.

Would you buy this product again? nooo.
for a while this product worked great. it gave pretty good coverage and felt great on my skin. however after about a week, it made me break out SO bad i almost cried gross gross gross. and that might have to do something with the fact that it doesnt apply right if you dont use your fingers. i tried using a sponge and it didn't work. gross product...i might recommend it for someone who NEVER breaks out but if you break out at all, i wouldn't recommend touching the mousse with a ten foot pole.
