I want to like this foundation because its so affordable but unfortunately i dont. I bought the one for oily/combination skin. It does last long but the formula is way too thick. It takes forever for me to blend into my face. The bottle is huge so ill prob just stick with just this one since it'll last me so long

Start off by testing Natural Tan. That seems to match a lot of NC40's. From there you can see if you need to go lighter or darker. HTH.

Would you buy this product again? I think so.
I have veiny red cheeks and an uneven skin tone, plus scarring from picking (horrible I know). So I need a foundation with buildable coverage. This is a great one to start with and possibly one that will end up being THE one.
For the record, I've been using this daily for about a week and a half with no clogging or breakouts. However, I do make sure I use a wipe to get it all off before washing/toning.
It really covers and evens out my skin. I use a damp sponge to apply which sheers it out a little. This may be the reason I have no problem with thickness. I haven't used a brush with it yet so I can't compare. If I need to conceal places, I just use some foundation from the cap and that's good enough to cover it. But I still need an extra concealer for my dark, dark under eye circles.
It seriously lasts all day and doesn't seem to transfer. I don't need to use a setting powder but one might be nice. I usually blot once a day but it's not necessary (which is nice to not have to fight with my oily skin).
Overall I really like this foundation and I have easy access to it which is a major plus. I rated the price a 4 because I think it's a little high for a drugstore product IMO (I think anything past 10 is high, but then again I'm cheap). It would really be nice if there was a pump but I just pour some on my sponge so it doesn't affect me as much as someone that applies it using a brush. Honestly, I'd put up with it because it's a great product.

Re: Revlon Colorstay with Soft Flex
What is the good color for NC30? I tried 310 Warm Beige, looks a little bit too dark on me. But otherwise I like it so far.

I'm a NC30 and use the Normal/Dry formulation in 250 Fresh Beige, the match isn't perfect but definitely good enough, just make sure you don't put it on too thickly and blend very well. I've noticed this seems to be especially important with this foundation...
You can also mix it with some moisturiser or Mixing Medium/Face & Body which makes it blend in with your skin even better.
Hope this helps

Re: Revlon Colorstay with Soft Flex
I love Colorstay! I was having major issues with foundation, and I find this covers everything I need to and without having the cakeyness of other foundations. I do agree that oily/combo formula is a litte harsh, I may go back and try normal/dry but otherwise A+!

Re: Revlon Colorstay with Soft Flex
p.s. on the Kim Kardashian video the MUA used a 180 brush with the foundation.. I have this brush for years and had it basically in storage.. dusted it off and used it... IT IS FANTASTIC WITH THE COLORSTAY or any foundation. Try it!

dilute it with primer, or with oil free moisturizer -- that makes it very thin and apply with foundation brush or the MAC 180

Great price. Great coverage. Lasts the whole day on my very oily face. Dries quick. Natural finish. Looks heavenly when stippled on with a 187. The only downside to this product is that there is NO PUMP so getting the product out is a hassle. other than that, I'm in love

wow! so i'm about NC25-NC30 (had a mac mua match me) with freckles and i bought natural tan...it's a shade darker than my face but matches exactly to my neck(my face doesn't tan well )....but NC 25/30 is pretty far from NC40...can i actually be darker than that???
-edit-
ok, i tested the natural tan the other day but i did find it was a bit dark so i exchanged it for warm golden combo/oily(i think), it matched better and my bf didn't say i looked like a oompa loompa...so i think thats good...he would tell me the truth too...haahha...so i went shopping at the mall and wore my coat so i could sweat and see if the foundation would change in color...it didn't....but i noticed that the oil on my nose did start to seep through...so no 16 hour last for me.... ....but overall...it is very good compared to my current foundation i'm trying to use up! it feels soft, natural, did not clog my pores, did not rub off...so i like it alot

Re: Revlon Colorstay with Soft Flex
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product. I have fairly oily skin so of course, I get the combo/oily skin one and it works great. I'm mixing it now with Carmindy foundation to get my perfect match, but this does give great coverage.

Re: Revlon Colorstay with Soft Flex
I just bought Revlon Colorstay foundation in Rich Tan. I'm a MAC StudioFix NC44. I don't really have a knack for color matching but the Rich Tan seemed like a good match for my east-Indian skin color. If anyone here uses the same MAC shade as me, please let me know if you combined a couple of Colorstay colors to get the right shade. Thanks in advance...
I will update my post in a few weeks to share my experience in using the Colorstay foundation. I am hopeful that this foundation will not cause skin irritation, breakouts, morphing my face into a ghostly mask, etc.
Have a great day!

I initially hated this foundation, but learned to love it. It's my almost HG foundation
I use mac 109 or essence of beauty foundation brush to apply and really buff it onto my skin to get a flawless coverage.
You don't need finishing powder for this foundation, because it is pretty matte and transfer resistant. I would imagine that using powder after this foundation will only make it a bit dry and flaky and cakey.
I love love love this foundation and will definitely purchase more when i do run out.

Re: Revlon Colorstay with Soft Flex
I want to love this foundation so much, the colour is perfect for me (110 ivory) but it just doesn't seem to blend well on my skin. I have combination skin so choose the combination/oily forumla. I have tried foundation brushes, sponges and my hands when trying to apply as well as a whole host of primers but it just doesn't seem to sit well on my skin! It wells intself into my pores and doesn't provide enough even coverage. It's a great dupe to my bobbi brown foundation, and I hope one day I will be able to wear it.

Would you buy this product again? OH YES
This is by far THE best foundation I have ever used. It doesnt make me look cakey and it has the right amount of coverage. The only thing I dont like is the packaging. I dont like that it doesnt have a pump. So I used one of my empty MAC foundation jars things and put my foundation in that one with a pump.

As for the blending thing it took me a couple brushes to find the right one. I use a doupe for MAC's 116. if I had the 116 I would probably use that but I dont and I found a doupe for it..lol I also use for primer Smashbox Photofinish. Oh and I myself have combination/oily skin as well.

Would you buy this product again? ofcourse!
This foundation works great on my face. I suffer rosacea but CS (Early Tan) doesn't have any problem covering it! It's really full coverage foundation. Recently I bought EL Double Wear(shell beige) but don't see big difference except PRICE!! Also DW is harder to blend than CS. Somehow DW doesn't work with 187 brush, but with CS perfectly!
My nose becomes oily in a while but just like with all others. I think the right sentence to describe CS is:
it will really stay on ur face with full coverage untill u take it off (unlike others which dissapear from my cheeks, showing my rosacea and I looked horrible).
Once, I felt asleep with CS (oops!) and when woke up, it was still there (I think whole amount I put on face in first place)!
Money+coverage=5/5
but problem is ofcourse package which I donno why they don't change it.
I took empty jar of Max Factor found. and pour CS into it. It works this way
Now I got great foundation with great pump

Re: Revlon Colorstay with Soft Flex
Overall: 4.5
Price: 4
Packaging Quality: 4.5
Would you buy this product gain? YES.. on sale though
I recently got my hands on bottle of this and it is definitely HG material. I'm a neutral, medium NC25 (informally matched) and I got Sand Beige.
I gave it an overall 4.5 because I'm just not too fond of the smell of the oil they use and it can be hard to blend, but otherwise it's fantastic. Also I actually use this product as a concealer since I don't use foundation and it's great for covering up my light scars.
I gave it a 4 for price because here in Canada it costs around $20 and that is just ridiculously expensive for a drugstore product. I will only buy this (and buy back up of course) when I go to the States because it is significantly cheaper and you can usually buy it on sale.
I gave it a 4.5 for packaging because I think it's great for a drugstore product. I mean, what can you expect, really? It's a glass jar like every other foundation comes in! It's a little hard to pour and you kinda waste a lot with you put some on the back of your hand. Just be careful not to drop it. However with that said, here is my Important note: This foundation also comes as Revlon Colorstay Active Foundation. It comes in a squeeze tube, 30mL (same amount as the bottle), but it is designed to use when playing sports, when you're sweating, when you're outdoors.. AND IT HAS SPF!! It's great so I bought myself a regular bottle and also grabbed the Active version. Best of all it was the same price too!!

I have been using this and the revlon botafirm with softflex for the past 5 years. I use alot of revlon products as they are affordable.
Until I came across MAC and other high end brands I loved this foundation.
I still do but MAC SFF is beating it slightly. However before I knew anything about MAC Revlon foundation was my holy grail.
It stays on ALL DAY and I only have to touch up once in the afternoon. The shading is nice. It can feel a little cakey if I put too much on. I've always used my fingers but will have to try it with a brush.

The active doesn't last half as long as the colourstay foundation for me. I think the normal colourstay has spf too?

Re: Revlon Colorstay with Soft Flex
I just got this yesterday on a BOGO at Rite Aid, and I don't know how I feel about it yet. I will say that it has a very strong and rather unpleasant odor. Kinda scary! The color matches up pretty good, that smell just makes me a little hesitant. Anyone experienced any breakouts or reactions from this stuff?

i have very sensitive skin and do not react to color stay (i react horribly to MAC foundations and had to stop using it) however make sure it is completely cleaned off at night the smell does not bother me since the coverage is awesome!!
