NOTD french manicure + zebra printed tips [pic heavy]
So I got bored today and I decided to play with my nails. Enjoy!
I'll go through step-by-step what I used and how I did it ...
So, I gave myself a manicure; trimmed my nails, cuticles, filed, buffer, etc... I prefer square cut over round
Excuse my dry hands
Then I got out all the goodies I found ...

Brushes

Close up
 - Cheap nail polish remover [I prefer Acetone, but I left it at my boyfriend's house; any nail polish remover will work I guess]

- 2 Cotton balls just incase I don't like the outcome

- Sally Hansen SALON NAIL LACQUER in All the White Stuff [I recommend this! It glides on very smoothly; no bumps, clumpy stuff whatsoever!
]
- Rimmel 399 Black Satin Nail Lacquer
- Milani Clear Nail Lacquer [I like this clear nail lacquer because it seems like there's gel on top of your nails and also drys on very smoothly; any clear coat would work as well]
- Loew-Cornell American Painter 4650 Spotter Brush [Got this at Michael's, this is the point brush that you can make designs with]
- Loew-Cornell American Painter 4400 Angular Brush [Got this at Michael's too, it's the brush to clean off that access
]
You'll need to pour a little bit of the nail polish to the cap, just enough to wipe off all the access stuff after applying the white tips.

I applied 2 coats of "all the white stuff" free-handedly to the tips of my nails in an upward motion towards the tip of my nails; doesn't have to be perfect tips btw.
After applying 2 coats to each tips of my nails and letting it sit to dry for a little, I took the angular brush, dipped the tip into the nail polish remover and moved it in an upward motion. [bottom of the tip up to the point where I wanted my tips to be] Ohhh... and it might get a lil sticky, so you can clean it off with a paper towel by swiping it back and forth after you dip it into the polish remover.
After doing that, it still didn't look too clean, so I swiped the brush across, and BAM! all the access crap is gone and TADA! a perfect line! So I did that to all of my nails, and here is how it came out...
If you don't have the brush, I'd recommend using this stiff-end cotton Q-tip thingy it works perfectly fine as well.

I took the spotting brush [I didn't dip it into the Black nail lacquer] and I took the brush from the nail polish and gently polished it onto the spotting brush. You just want to make sure you have enough for the designs.

Again, if you don't have the brush, there are also nail polishes that come with the pointed tip brushes that'll be a whole lot easier, but IMO I like to use individual brushes.
I started from the edge of my nails working my way to the middle or where ever I wanted the design to stop at. I didn't do too many prints, but it's up to you how you'd like it to look.
Ehh... didn't come out too good, oh well.
Here are all of my nails ... almost done!
Side view:

Top view:
After applying two coats to the prints, [and dipping my spotting brush into the polish brush simultaneously] I let it sit and dry for about 5 minutes.
So it dried... kind of... and I added the clear coat.
Here's the finishing product!
I smeared some of the prints with the clear coat because I didn't let it dry enough Oh well. Lol.

I think nail shops use like the round brushes too, but IMO the angular does make a difference

Re: NOTD french manicure + zebra printed tips [pic heavy]
Very cool!
If only i weren't a chronic nail biter, i could try this out...lol
but this does inspire me to let them grow out again.
This question is open to anyone, cuz i always wonder...
are you able to do the other hand as good since it's not your dominant hand?
(like i'm right handed and would probably do really bad job painting my nails on my right hand) Things that make you go Hmmmmm.

Lol, takes practice. Thank god I have the brushes, they're a big help! I'm right handed so it was pretty challenging in the beginning; with my hands all shaky and all, but I guess practice makes perfect?!

Thanks! I'm always looking for fun designs to try all by myself, instead of heading to the salon everytime I want to change it up!
