Yeah ^ Agreed - although I'd be careful with a ruffled top AND ribbing on the cardi. Same goes for the fabrics of each.

i think a 3/4 lengh black cardi like Nunu suggested would look lovely

perhaps get a sheer black one to go over the top... or really thin wool.
