is it worth getting the lip products? heard mixed reviews about them especially the ultra matte one. thinking about taking my first plunge into the CP pool but not sure what to start with

Some people love the lip products, some don't. Personally, I'm meh on the lippie stix. The liners are good. The ultra mattes are inconsistent. Some of them are really great, but some can be dry, patchy, and crack on your lips and some are not very matte at all. The ultra satins are generally fantastic, IMO. They dry down pretty matte and have minimal transfer once they set. I love love my ultra metallics, but a lot of people have had issues with them. I honestly think it's the formula just being different and weirding people out, but I could be wrong. The ultra satins and ultra metallics are very comfortable. All the liquid lip colors will be significantly darker than the swatches on their website in my experience, especially on fairer ladies. On me, a lot of the pinky nude colors pull really brown.

I LOVE the eye shadows! I'm not in love with the blushes or highlighters, but a lot of people love them. I have best results using my fingers to apply and even blend. I also have best results NOT using a primer on my lids. In fact, lately I've been using the shadows as bases for other products to awesome effect. The Jamie King collab has a great set that has face and eye products in some nice, very wearable shades for $30USD. The face products are the same size as shadows, so smaller than full-sized face stuff.

The eye liners are so good, except you have a high chance of receiving them broken, and if you over extend them when applying, they'll break as well. So they are fragile, but do not budge. I have not tried a pot yet. The brows are really good, too.

The products are low cost, generally high quality. The customer service is hit or miss (mostly miss, IMO). Shipping can be crazy fast or crazy slow. Also, it is the same parent company as Kylie, and I have seen so many issues with international orders disappearing or taking a month or so to arrive..just be careful and be aware of your options to fight charges if necessary if the products don't show. Just be careful...you may end up spending a TON because everything is so cheap, lol.

For me personally, the Ultra Satin Lips are the best lip products they have. I don't like the blushes but the highlighters are nice and the shadows are really good.

I got my order yesterday, and have had a little bit of time to play around with the 4 metals and swatch them.

My initial impression is that I like them. The colors are really nice, wearable shades. Not too frosty. They're a bit glittery versus sheen/metallic. Kween has the most glitter, with Man Eater and Zebra having the least. I have to say, I'm a little glad they only released 4. I am hoping they'll tweak the formula a little bit. I am glad they are not Ultra Mattes, because CP's formula dries the shit out of my lips. They're pretty comfortable, but the texture is a little odd. Nothing to keep me from wearing them. I'll try it with MAC's lip primer underneath out of curiosity. It's a drier, mousse-like formula. When I first pulled the wand out, there was barely any product on it. With a little shaking of the tube and trying again, it was fine. It looks clumpy and odd on the wand, and I was concerned. But it applied smoothly. I didn't have a problem getting pretty clean lines without a lipliner. They weren't streaky at all, but a little sheer. They are not 1-swipe full pigment. Two passes made them completely opaque. I actually don't mind this, because they would probably look neat layered over a bunch of different liners, but also have the ability to be opaque themselves.

I haven't worn them for an extended amount of time, just for lip swatches. They have a bit of lasting power, as it took a little bit of rubbing with bioderma to get them off. Nothing too crazy though, definitely similar to Ultra Satin. I would say that the glitter in them makes them a liiiitle bit gritty, but again, I wasn't harshly put off by it. I think the only shade I would worry about wearing off and leaving glitter on the lips would be Kween. I'm going to keep playing with them to see how I feel! I seriously love each color though!

These photos were all taken facing a window, but it was closing in on 6:00pm, so the lighting is a bit warm, but I feel they're pretty close to true color. The arm swatch picture shows off how metallic they look.

PS, sorry for the overload of my face. It always helps me to see lip-swatches and compare them with arm-swatches.

Top to Bottom: Man eater, zebra, kween, 3-way. Sorry for the messy swatches lol. I was clearly very excited to open these up.

These are gorgeous on you! I agree about the formula, the mousse formula is different to work with but not difficult. The only one I had any issues with was Kween, it was the driest and sheerest of the ones I got. And I'm sorry about the kidney stones, my mom gets them sometimes and they are a nightmare.

You and everyone on IG is making me sad I did not get Tokyo Tea! Both look lovely on you! Mine should be here sometime next week. I got Weho and Finders Keepers.

Thanks! If it makes you feel better I wish I had gotten Finders Keepers instead of Piranha. It's a very blah color for me. I'm curious as to when they'll release these.

Heaven help us if it's also when they launch international since that's when they're launching a lot of stuff. I'm glad ladies outside the US are getting access, but it's been such a bleep-show lately that I can't see this as helping with stocking and shipping issues..,

is the ultra matte lippie the "same" as the KC ones? I have only tried dolce and posie from KC but I love the formula so much (hate to admit that lol)

They are close, but exact same? No. And again, with CP, I feel like there is a range of performance for the ultra mattes. Some are great, and some are not.

(It's ok. Despite my terrible first order experience, I really like the KC products I have, too! My fave formula is Jeffree Star, though.)

I like some of the lippie stix but don't love them. The liners are very good. I have to agree with GreenEyedAllie that some of them aren't really matte.... some of the newer ones have this slight shine to them that is weird. I can't say though that I've had the same overly dry issues as some people. For me they wear exceptionally well and aren't hard to take off. I do wear Jack Black's lip balm under all my lip products though. I must say though that I have a ridiculous amount of the nude ones and those are the ones I have most experience with. I should also add that based on my experience, some of the darker ones stain like a MOFO. I haven't tried the Ultra Satins or the Metallic ones as yet but I'd say that I feel the liquid lipsticks (whether matter, satin, metallic) are gonna be your better bet for trial out of their lip products in general.

Can't add anything about their other products as I only own one eyeshadow and haven't even used it yet LOL!

thank you! my first order I thought I would try like a few shadows and one ultra matte and one satin as a start. but I'm really in no rush except now when they are launching international I'm both happy and scared that everything good (that's LE) will sell out quickly and chaos will erupt basically sigh..

They've been pretty good with bringing back well received LE stuff and now that they're going international, I'm sure they'll be boosting their stock. My only concern is going to be how competitive the shipping will be. Let's face it... we buy colourpop because it's cheap. But if when I add the cost of shipping to the cost of the items plus any customs duties and realise I could just buy something from NARS, we're going to have a problem lol.

yeah their shipping to most countries in europe and scandinavia is 25$ which is a lot for just a basic USPS shipping. (I mean it's even more than their sister company kylie cosmetics which has a flat rate at least at 15) I usually pay that same price for DHL express shipping from the US and then it takes maximum 2-3 days to come here and then it's merchandise that's more worth it. it's basically cheaper to buy via mymallbox or some other company via their USPS first mail shipping which is the same service CP offer and to a cheaper price. so I'm still deciding on if I should order yet or not. the only thing stopping me from ordering via forwarding company is that on their site they say that no replacements for those who use that kind of service..

well at least I'm "safe" until my salary comes lol. yes I saw that they brought back some stuff in stock for the international release so that's good! maybe they have finally expanded or are on their way to.

Completely agree with everything you've stated here! The satins are definitely the standout of lip products. I haven't pulled out a lippie stix in months. And the pinks go brown on me too, and I have a deeper skin tone. Your red hair is absolutely beautiful!!!! I know I'm 100 years late lol but you pull it off fantastically!

Thank you, love! :D Yeah, it's frustrating to see lip swatches online sometimes. How have you been?? Trying any glosses? I love all things glitter and have my eye on a couple metallics.
