MAC Viva Glam Lipstick

Pros: Money goes to a great cause and are not limited edition

Cons: I don't like the color of VIVA GLAM II and VIVA GLAM NICKI color might look different on diverse ladies

I only own 2 of the MAC VIVA GLAM collection and my lippies are MAC VIVA GLAM II a satin formula that looks brown on me and doesn't suits me very well (maybe I'm not a Brown lipstick fan), the formula is comfortable to wear but doesn't last that much.

The other I own is VIVA GLAM NICKI is also satin formula is described as "yellowish pink" and it's true the color is rich & easy to apply and the formula last for about 4 hours on me. I bought it thinking that would look coral pink on me as it does looks on other ladies, but looks bright barbie pink on me :) (I'm currently NC35 as it's summer :)

Update: I now also have MAC VIVA GLAM I it has a MATTE finish and the color is a true retro red and looks great on any skin tone. I love it, but don't use too often as I don't feel too comfortable wearing reds and browns. My heart is with corals/oranges/dark pinks for everyday use.

Pros: EVERY CENT of selling price is donated to the M·A·C AIDS Fund to support those living w/HIV & AIDS + IT IS ONE OF THE BEST RED LIPSTICKS EVER CREATED!

Cons: sometimes sold for profit; worse, people will purchase from/support sellers-for-profit

I've been wearing and collecting M·A·C lipsticks since 1991. I was employed with Nordstrom San Francisco Centre as a Spa-Assistant at their newly-opened Nordstrom Spa. The Spa-Manager introduced me to the then relatively-unknown cosmetics line with a small range of products - lipstick being their hallmark - which was exclusively used on our clientele and by all Spa employees. I've tried other lipstick brands since, but always came back to M·A·C lipstick. The only problem I have with M·A·C is their ever-present "triangle of death" - the designation assigned to products to be discontinued. It happens too often with many of my faves. Thankfully, M·A·C VIVA GLAM lipsticks have "immunity", with the exception of Special Editions.

A M·A·C MUA did my make-up for business head-shots recently and VIVA GLAM I was the lipstick she chose for me. I don't think it's a coincidence that it's my lipstick of choice for power-meetings (great minds think alike!) It's one of the very few M·A·C lipsticks I've used-up* more than once.

*i.e., down-to-the-nub...and beyond, scraping the casing with my lip brush!
With it's creamy, long-wearing formula and bold true color, VIVA GLAM I makes for THE Classic Red Lip on (almost) everyone; therefore, every M·A·C lipstick-fan ought to have it handy in their stash - if not for the color, at least for the cause.

"What made M·A·C famous." So true.

Pros: Great cause, applies well, great packaging

I LOVE my VGs. They apply really well, are beautiful on and contribute to a fantastic cause. I love that MAC donates 100% of all the proceeds of this lipstick to the Aids Fund. I like that the ring around the lipstick is red instead of the normal silver, which is the colour supporting the fight against Aids.

Viva Glam V is one of my most versatile, well used lipsticks. its a beautiful browny/rosey colour that is my lips but better with shimmer!

Viva Glam Cyndi is also a lovely summer colour. its a coral-ly red for me and I was very lucky that I got it. It was the last one available at the counter and it was long gone from the site.

I am okay with the price since the money goes towards the fight against AIDS. I swatched Viva Glam V and loved it right away and loved it even more after putting it on.

Pros: AIDS Funded, long last

100% of the proceeds when customers buy Viva Glam products go to the MAC AIDS funds that helps those that are effected and affected.

My 1st VG was Fergie VG VI special edition  today my fav VG's are VG I, II, V and VI. I will forever buy VG lipsticks even if its a color that I dont intend to wear its for a great cause and im big on supporting anything that will help save a life.... for a everyday lipstick and for weddings try VG V and VI as & and gloss as & .

Pros: Great Cause, Apply Well

MAC Viva Glam lipsticks are very similar to other regular MAC lipsticks, except that the procedes from these lipsticks go to the MAC AIDS Fund, which has already raised millions of dollars for AIDS research and prevention.

There is a wide variety of these lipsticks in terms of shades and finishes, my personal favorite is Viva Glam V, which is a rosey-brown color that is flattering to a lot of skintones. And even if you don't like the lipstick, your money still went to a great cause. This shade range is also a great introduction to the overwhelming world of MAC lipsticks.

MAC Viva Glam Lipstick

In 1994, M·A·C introduced VIVA GLAM, an outspoken deep red that was universal in appeal and glamour. In 1997, a second lipstick was created VIVA GLAM II, a pinked mauve. VIVA GLAM III, a foxy brown plum launched in 2000. VIVA GLAM IV, a heartful rose charged with gold, introduced in March 2002. In March 2004, Viva Glam V makes its debut, a pure neutral pink with a delicious Lustre finish! VIVA GLAM VI, the newest member of the VIVA GLAM family, is a warm terracotta-plum with pearl finish. Wear it alone or finish it off with a coat of VIVA GLAM VI Lipglass. Every cent of the selling price of VIVA GLAM Lipstick and Lipglass is donated to the M·A·C AIDS Fund to support men, women, and children living with HIV and AIDS.
